Revolution Ep 4 Recap Auntie Em! Auntie Em!

Sergeant Strauss apologizes to Rachel… in advance.

Aaron was bitten by one of the dogs and Dr. Mom tends his wounds.  He is worried he has rabies.  Now THAT would be a welcome development.  A rabid Aaron chasing everyone- that would be awesome.  Or maybe Aaron could turn into a Werewolf!!! Something good has to happen on this show!   Nora chastises Miles “Charlie didn’t deserve that.  You exploded on her.  You should go easier on her.”

Miles, acting like a 4 year old, replies “I’ll go easier, I’ll leave.  That’s better for everyone.”

God bless Nora, she says “You are still the selfish dick who leaves.”  (I just love that we can now say dick in primetime.”
Miles replies “This isn’t about us.”
Nora says “You made Charlie a promise.  She is your family.”
Miles says “That doesn’t matter, it doesn’t make it my responsibility.  It’s not my fault about Ben and her Mom.  I’m not doing this anymore.”

nice work, dick

Charlie, of course, overhears all of this and gives one of her two faces Happy or Sad… well , let’s face it, they look the same.

Charlie flashes back to several years after the blackout.   Rachel is getting ready to leave to “go get supplies.”  She says “I’ll be back in a couple of months.   You need to protect Danny because he is a spineless wuss and listen to your Dad.”

Please take care of this little imbecil

She hugs each of them and then stoically walks away.

Laters

Aaron is still bellyaching about his dog bite when they hear the dogs barking and getting closer.  Miles says they should move on.  They cut to a “scary” dude who looks like a cross between Peter Fonda and Jesse James- so Jesse Fonda, feeds one of the mean dogs a treat.

Not so Easy Rider

Some crazy weather is moving in and everyone is running for shelter.  Looks like a tornado. The Neville Wagon Train wheels on into a barn  and Neville orders the men to “tie this gear down.”  They unload all of the dead weight- aka Danny- and place him on a tuffet and tell him not to move. Miraculously, right within reach is something Danny can unlock his handcuff’s with.

Mysterious lock-picking implements placed right within reach

He gets uncuffed and runs.

That’s gotta be some kind of record

Five seconds later he gets tackled by Neville.  They run into a storm cellar with Dorothy and Aunt Em to escape the Tornado.

Auntie Em!  Auntie Em!

I am glad someone else feels this way about this show. Wonderful recap. I agree, it would have been a much better twist to kill off Charlie and let Dr. Mom live; Dr. Mom’s story line had potential. Ah well…
Thank you for the Dharma shout out, thought the same thing when I saw Juliet, did I say Juliet, I meant Rachel with the Dharma illustration. Wonder who her constant is in this show? Probably not Miles.

Dr. Mom was my fave character, her an Aaron the only reason why I was still watching this boring crap. She is dead, so I am out.

unfortunately, i think charlie is supposed to be the emotional heart of this story. however, i think she is the least compelling character and one of the weakest actors in the show. i love aaron and miles, and like dr. mom ok. i think this show is beyond silly, but there’s enough interest in the flashbacks for me to stay tuned. and i could watch miles sword fight every episode (at least they’re getting their money’s worth from all those sword fighting lessons!).

    thanks for recapping

Chicken Man is the only reason I’m still watching.
