Kandi is in the studio. I’m over it. She did her own music, Kim’s music, Miss Lawrence’s music, country music and now…gospel. It’s been months since she’s been in the studio because she moved, is decorating and eating anything that’s not nailed down. Todd calls during this meeting and the guys, especially her manager Don, are none too pleased. When have we ever seen Todd call Kandi? That seemed contrived. Anyway, Don says that she has a glow and is in love. I never have figured out if there was more to their relationship in the past but he doesn’t seem crazy about this whole thing. He tells her she better only be gaining weight from food, not babies. Kandi explains that she is smart and on birth control. Aaah, just what I like to hear from all unmarried gospel artists. Todd “calls” again. Poor Don. I know managers and when your client doesn’t work, you don’t get necessarily paid. I’m sure Don is ready to burn down that damn Bedroom Kandi warehouse.
Porsha and Cynthia have dinner and it is Porsha’s intention to put Cynthia in her place. The producers must have given Cynthia a heads up because she jumps right in and says that she doesn’t want Porsha’s help. Porsha is surprised because she’s put in so much work.
Cynthia says that Porsha made it seem like she was doing this when she was busy with other things. Plus, the charity still didn’t send the logo and the pageant is about a week away. The little bit of work she had isn’t even getting done. Porsha is a little upset because she has to go back and face her husband. I feel like Bravo may have edited that quote from Porsha a little bit to give life to the ‘Kordell is controlling’ angle.
Nene is at her L.A. home and still can’t get reception on her cell. Gregg looks like a creepy tortoise. Nene says he needs to start kissing her in other spots so he doesn’t mess up her lip gloss. He readily yet slowly attempts to kiss her. She escapes easily. They get a taco.
Kandi tells her people she wants to do a gospel record because it’s out of the box. She tells them how she prayed for a dildo company ever since she was a little girl and she finally got one! She wants to share her strategies with the world! I don’t want to go too negative so I’ll just say I’m not into this. I don’t like the way gospel music is so easily, and willingly, pimped. Kandi will be working with Marvin Sapp and as she starts to record it actually sounds halfway decent. Kandi can sing but the chipmunk vibratto drives me a little crazy.
It’s time for Kordell’s party! Kandi and Todd show up and talk about Kordell turning the big 4-0. The conversation takes a turn for the creepy when Porsha proclaims that 30 is the new 15. She’s found a way to make her relationship with Kordell even more disturbing. Now they both have to introduce themselves to the neighbors when they move. Peter and Cynthia show up because Cynthia thinks this makes her the bigger person when in fact, Peter kicked and screamed until she said they could go. My notes on this section got deleted but I know at some point Porsha said that she was “perturd”but I think she meant “pretard”. Walter shows up because Porsha wanted to do something stupid? It just didn’t make any sense. He’s stayed in touch with Peter but didn’t mention that he and Kenya were not together anymore. He says that it didn’t work out but Peter doesn’t care; Walter is welcome at any event during which Peter needs his car towed home. Kordell also says that Walter is welcome anytime, anytime, anytime. There’s either an echo or Kordell really likes damaged men.
