Good googly MOOGLY, this was one helluva sappy season finale. Everyone was all emotionally well-balanced and making good decisions and not drunk or crazy or anything! I literally feel asleep upon first viewing. Also, I’m at my mom’s house, and since I forgot to tell her to DVR the ep, I’m recapping off of notes from last night’s viewing. They’re extensive notes, mind you, but if I missed one of your favorite moments, feel free to comment and do a little recapping of your own;-)
The ladies are still stuck in Bimini because once Karen’t got back to Miami, she tossed a few eyes of newt and some Rembrandt White Lightning into a cauldron and sent a storm south. Because she’s feeling simpatico, Lea chats with a friend of hers who’s in jail. This leads to a conversation about the fact that she knows more criminals than Roy. Ha! I believe it. I think she gets’em when they’re young, like Joe Francis, and continues being friends with them after their inevitable downfalls. Loyalty. It’s what’s for dinner.
None of the ladies cannot leave, so they hang out, Marysol drinks some more, then suggests they all head down to the ocean to waste some perfectly good flowers. It’s the waterpraytime they got into last week. Marysol blathers on and on about how throwing the flowers is throwing way bad energy and getting in touch with wishes for the future, and this is where I fell asleep.
I’m gonna get someone deported for this.
Adriana’s hope for the future? She wants to want Frederic. She wants to want him really, really bad. Lisa wants babies really bad, but she also dedicates her flowers to Karen’t’s safe air travel to Miami. I’m not kidding about that. She talks a good long while about Karen’t’s travel plans and not a lick about the faulty pacemaker that’s jolting Papa Sierra’s heart all over the damn place. As for Marysol, she wants happiness for herself AND her ex, and I swear I can hear Lea’s thoughts, “He’s haaaaaappy! He’s got his Greeeeeen Caaaaard!” Alexia wants her son to be better, Joanna wants to marry Romain and Ana, despite her earlier cynicism, melts into a pile of tears and estrogen when it’s her turn. She cries about her daughters and Robert, and wishes that Robert find happiness. Dude, he’s dating a 25-year-old and you’re still doing his laundry. He’s happy. Trust. Time to focus on you.
After the “ceremony,” Karen’t’s spell breaks and the women are able to head back to the mainland. There’s some really dramatic piano music, and we head to a music school to watch Alex have a piano recital. It’s a weirdly dramatic intro into Adriana’s segment – I think someone totally different either edited or EPed this ep, because it has a very “Desperate Housewives”/”Scandal”/”Deceived” feel to it. Adriana, Frederic and Alex head into a small auditorium and Adriana is wearing the most ridiculous outfit one could possibly wear to a piano recital.
