When Karent tries to explain that when her boyfriend is in town, he’s her priority so she hasn’t had the chance to mix with the ladies as much, Alexia starts babbling about how she doesn’t have anything to do with Rodolpho (okay…?), and then we immediately cut to Alexia interviewing about how she knew Rodolpho before Karent did, and that their relationship is probably fake. NONE OF ANY OF THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU ALEXIA. SHUT THE FUCK UP.
Things hit a boiling point when Alexia tells Karent that being new to the group, the dentist had better learn her place, Adriana calls Karent a copycat, and Karent, who seriously can’t get a word in edgewise tries to defend herself but fails miserably because this whole confrontation is about Adriana and Alexia venting and Karent never stood a chance of walking out of it better understood. Alexia attacks the fact that Karent has a publicist, forcing Karent to reveal that she considers herself an actress and a spokesperson (not her finest moment of the hour), which Alexia also attacks. Theeeeen Karent says that though she and Alexia are not close, her well-meaning ways and friendshippy intent should have been obvious because she prayed for Frankie and sent well-wishes. And if Alexia weren’t out of town on the crazy train before, she sure as shit is now. She loses her damn mind on Karent, starts yelling that she has more important things at home to worry about than fighting with Karent. Good! GO THE FUCK WORRY ABOUT THEM. She tells Karent to leave, Karent does so gracefully (or attempts to), and Lea cackles all the way home because she might be an asshole, but she’s smart enough to stick on the sidelines.
Some of you might be wondering why I seem to be taking Karent’s side more than usual here, and here’s why: she’s an idiot, but she’s a pretty well-mannered idiot, and the way those two women treated her just now made her behavior at Arteamericas look completely innocent. I think it’s deplorable to gang up on someone in the first place, but to do it in such a public setting, so loudly and when one member of the trio has absolutely no reason to be involved in the first place is downright nasty. This was classic kindergarten bullshit, and it makes me think less of both women. I really don’t think Karent’s remarks about Frankie were that out of place – she shouldn’t have brought it up, but if I were cornered and overwhelmed like that, there’d probably be bags and bags of things coming out of my mouth that weren’t exactly right on the money.
Bottom line, if either Adriana or Alexia were interested in letting Karent know about her behavior in a constructive manner, they wouldn’t have berated her all over the place. I call bullshit.
Whew, moving on. Oh – except I loved it when Elsa pulled down Karent’s dress. Hilar!
During the day time when people are better behaved, Joanna drops Marta off at Lisa’s. Seems she’s finally come to her senses about the whole thing, or just located enough balls to face her crumbling relationship. The ladies chill for a bit and sip some wine with Lisa, and the mood is generally somber. Joanna knows that she has to do something and the specter of the dancer makeout session that might have been hangs over her. Marta interviews that she doesn’t understand how Joanna can be so blind.
You know what, Marta? I don’t understand why you think that fucking hat looks good, so there’s a lot misunderstanding going around.
