That said, Adriana comes off insane, and she doesn’t bring out much better in Joanna when the other woman starts crowing about retweeting negative tweets (I hate you, Twitter. I hate you so hard.) and getting mad at Lisa for not coming to her defense. Both women start pouting about the other being a clear bully, when everyone on the couch has had e-fucking-nough. Ana points out that kids are literally dying because of actual bullying, so two grown women trading insults at dinner parties when they could both afford to hire armed guards to duke it out for them is an affront to real suffering. She’s not wrong. Lisa brings up the very apt point that while she’s been bullied in the past, much like Joanna and Adriana claim to have been, it didn’t make her behave like a batshit crazy dodo bird as a grown up. Finally, Lea chimes in that none of them should be forced to pick sides because the two women make that fucking difficult with such immature behavior. I’ll say. My roommate is watching as I recap and he looks like he wants to cry. Then Lea starts crying, and I’m not sure why…
Speaking of “romance,” let’s turn the spotlight on Karen’t and her maybe-relationship with probably-herpetic Rodolpho. Not helping her case – the fact that they’re not together now. Andy only seems interested in discussing the cheating debacle, and Karen’t makes it pretty clear that she would have probably listened to information from the ladies had it come with positive intent. Ana has a giant two cents to put in all of a sudden, calling Rodolpho the Mexican Slade, and spouting off about what a famewhore simpleton he is. Mmmmkay…
In another kind of inexplicable move, Lea pipes up that she didn’t have a great opinion of Karen’t either, but it changed a bit when she saw how merciless the other women were towards our sweet, smiley dentist. Ana calls bullshit on Lea, claiming the Divine Mrs. Black had it out for Karen’t from Day One, and thus is introduced a strange theme for this reunion:
I don’t get it, Gasmii. I know Ana was never super-impressed with Lea on the show, but the level of vitriol she throws Lea’s way both in this first installment and the next is really excessive.
For instance, Ana claims that Lea is totally bullshitting poor Karen’t, refuses to be convinced otherwise even when NO ONE on the couches corroborates (even Adriana). Then, when the conversation moves onto Lea’s mouthy-mouth, Ana takes it way to another level, making age jokes (not that Lea’s above that), calling Lea’s claim to be self-made a load of crap and in general hating on a woman she seems to have barely noticed all season.
When the conversation moves to Lea and Marysol, unfortunately things are pretty much back where they started, except Marysol is crying more. I really had a hard time piecing together what went on during this exchange, but what I think it boils down to is that Marysol, after having watched the season, saw and heard the negative things Lea was saying about the Patton Group. She realized how bad it made her company look and she was upset that Lea would use such a big microphone to air out their personal dirty laundry. Lea, for her part, makes no apologies for what she’s said, defending herself by claiming that she’s only ever told the truth. They’re both kind of right, but Marysol’s case would be helped immensely if she a)stopped crying and b)got the fuck off reality television if she thinks she can control her own publicity.
