Back at the realtor’s office, the realtor suggests working with each wife in turn. Robyn is first. Kody is eager to get it done, and rushes her through the choices.
Now it’s Meri’s turn. First, the realtor tells Kody Meri is $200 over budget already, and that’s before she’s picked a washer and dryer. Meri enters. On the couch, she shares she felt the atmosphere in the room was “ominous”. Back in the room, Meri asks if she’s really over budget. Kody says yes, even “before you pick out 5K of options”. Oh, snap! On the couch, Meri says she “suspected” the realtors had already talked to Kody (oh, you mean your husband?) and that Kody was rushing her. Kody responds she would just want more and more expensive options, and Meri retorts that she can be practical and logical, going on to say that she wants it to be right instead of spending money later to fix it. Honey, “right” is having a good foundation, walls that stay up, plumbing and electric that are done properly. Expensive fripperies aren’t something that fall under that category. They’re options that you can do later if you can afford them.
Back in the office, an exasperated Kody asks Meri if she has $10,000 because he’s going to insist they get certain things (necessities, in addition to all her options). On the couch, Meri says he had a wall up and was defensive, and had a “weird funky energy”.
In the office, Kody says Meri overspends, Meri says for the millionth time she’s stressed out, and asks if they can move on to another wife, and she’ll return later. She shares that she didn’t deserve Kody’s attitude. I love how Meri is only stressed out when Kody – or anyone – dares to hold her to account. What a manipulative, passive-aggressive beyotch.
Janelle is next. She decides to not use her budget for a patio, and says that can be laid later as a DIY project. If you’re lucky, Janelle, Meri can “accidentally” fall into the cement while no one is watching . . .
Christine comes in. She wants stone on the house exterior, which she can get because she has a large amount of unused money. Kody says she could help Meri with it, and he’s not joking. Christine isn’t going for it. On the couch, she says she was made to feel selfish, Kody says it was a joke, and Meri says Christine should “absolutely not” give any money to Meri. HAHAHAHAH We all know that if Christine had offered, Meri would have ripped that money out of her hand in a hot minute. Cause Meri’s special, doncha know?
Having finished with the others, it’s Meri’s turn again. On the couch, Kody shares Meri will probably complain to Robyn and get Robyn to side with her. Meri indignantly says “are you kidding me? it’s not about getting someone to side with me. Is that what you think this relationship is about?” Kody says he meant “validate” not “side”, and says there’s a reason he was in that (emotional) place. Meri says “let’s continue to put the blame on someone else”. Well, it is your fault, Meri. So there’s that.
