Logan is still packing. He says he’s looking forward to having space of his own, having breathing room. He’s a bit nervous “being my own primary caregiver”, but says the thrill is overshadowing his nervousness. Just wait until you see your presents, pal.
Speaking of, Robyn has a quilt at her house, which everyone is signing. It has photos of all the family. Her sister, Fawn or Dawn or something that ends with “awn”, made it. Kody writes on the quilt what God expects of Logan. Janelle says her idea of perfect choices isn’t necessarily Logan’s. Well yes, insofar as the choices involve dorky quilts.
Why Logan will die a virgin.
Logan is still not gone. Everyone is eating, then they give him the quilt. Logan shares his first thought was no way would he take it to the dorm, but on second thought he was touched. I think we all know that’s the last anyone will ever see of that quilt.
To keep Logan from leaving, Kody suggests they all “run over to the property”.
Everyone looks at the houses, which are now under construction. On the couch, Kody brings up the mission statement again. Meri says it’s a good time. Robyn says it will redefine who they are. Kody says they all have visions in their heads, it is about blending them. Christine is smiling in agreement, while Janelle looks grim. Meri points out they wouldn’t be there if they weren’t committed (regardless of a mission statement). They should be committed, all right.
They’ll love you.
Christine says they need roots, and it can’t be too late. There’s more talk about the kids returning home. Do none of these people realize that when children grow up, they move away and stay away? I’m not sure why they’re so concerned, if some of the kids are moving out, just have a few more! Except you, Meri.
Kody repeats they need to get in the houses before Christmas. Robyn points out it’s the last Christmas at home for Mariah and Aspyn. Meri isn’t ready for Mariah to leave and starts to weep, as does Robyn, who promises they’ll be in the houses before Christmas.
Must get my crying quota in before this ep ends!
On that note, our ep ends, and we go to the misleadingly named “Secrets Revealed”, hosted by Tamron Hall. Christine and Janelle are on one couch, Kody on the other, flanked by Meri and Robyn.
No T no shade: Janelle looks really pretty here.
Who put Kody in a vest? HAHAHAHAH Douche.
Hall starts by asking Kody if he wonders how he got there. He says “I can watch it on reruns”, and Robyn pipes up “it’s like home movies”. (All through this ep, Robyn keeps trying to interrupt, and Hall just ignores her. Kudos, Hall!) Kody says he never foresaw what would happen. Hall says initially their mission was to point out they’re just like other people. Meri says yes, that they chose that lifestyle and are committed. They don’t answer the real question, which is what is their motivation for doing the show now? Oh wait, I know that one.
