Kody wants to pipe in since he hasn’t gotten to be the center of attention for almost seven minutes now. He’s the dad, he should be included, right? The ladies all laugh, which pretty much says what I’m thinking:
“No one really cares what you want when it comes to babies, sweetie.”
Kody throws in his two cents anyway. He and Meri have been thru this fertility business and it is a roller coaster of heartbreak. Duly noted.
“Can we at least PRETEND I have a say?”
“I’ll answer you with a joke: Knock knock! Who’s there? Nobody! Nobody who? NOBODY CARES!”
Next scandal! The first woman that Meri and Kody courted to be the second wife was not Janelle, it was an 18 year old woman; I love how Natalie has to throw that in there. QUIT STARTING SHIT! Kody and are on the same wavelength; he is quick to point out that he was 22 at the time, he’s not an old perv (he’s old and immature, that’s different!)
OMG Kody and I were on the same wavelength. I don’t even remember what we were talking about because this realization is so distressing…
“First potential second wife, remember? Keep up, Baldy!”
Right! Okay, so young Kody and Meri both fell in love with this woman. For Meri, it was not the love that dare not speak its name, it was a sisterly love. She and this mystery 18 year old totally clicked and became really good friends. She and Meri worked well together when Kody was not around, so it seemed that they would be perfect Sister Wives!
So what happened? According to Meri and Kody, she was not right for the family, so they chose to end it. They were pretty close to getting married but they called it off because…and they won’t really say why. Kody says they knew it was not right in the deep spiritual sense? What the fuck does that mean?
“Sounds like she was a good fit. Why did you end the relationship?”
“We were both really in love with her, and then, well, you know.”
“No, I don’t know, that’s why I’m asking. What happened?”
“We realized it was wrong on a spiritual level.”
“Right, but what does that mean? What brought you to that realization?”
“We just realized it wasn’t the love of a lifetime.”
“Yeah, I got it. My question is why not, And how did you come to realize this?”
“Ummmmm….spiritual and…god stuff? How about we move on?”
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED!?! I want theories in the comments, people! Mystery woman needs to write a book! “It Could Have Been Me: The Story of How I Almost Married Kody Brown”
Let’s talk about the ultra boring courtship of Janelle and Kody! So these two started hanging out, and Kody wanted Janelle to marry a guy like him. Natalie asks Kody what is so special about him, and for once, she’s asking a question I can get on board with. He admits to being cocky and arrogant at the time.
Janelle and Kody did not have a romantic courtship, but they had a deep mutual respect. Janelle thought Kody would help her produce good sons, so it was on. Their marriage is based on a familial love and shared conviction, not romance. I think this has been clear the whole time. They have zero chemistry.
Janelle and Meri didn’t start off their lives as S-dubs on the right foot. Well, for one, Janelle was Meri’s former sister law. That had to be at least somewhat awkward. She married her brother’s ex-wife!
