Meri says she was very okay with Janelle coming in. Natalie pushes her; was she really? Apparently in the book it is clear the relationship did not work. Meri is honest; their relationship struggled in the beginning and it continues to do so. It was hard for Meri to accept Janelle because she wanted another super bestie, and instead she got Janelle, who was looking for “a man who would make fine sons.” Plus, Janelle is not girly and warm and fuzzy, we know that. She and Meri have very different personalities, plus they were young and immature and sharing a husband. It’s not shocking that they were ultra-critical of each other.
Once they were all married, Janelle moved into the guest room at K and M’s house and Meri went from cordial to frosty. According to Janelle’s writing in the book, Meri made it clear that Janelle was fucking up the status quo. The major problem was the difference in how they were raised to communicate. Meri was raised to have an opinion about everything and to voice that opinion. In other words, Meri’s family has diarrhea mouth while Janelle was all about staying silent.
“Do we really have to rehash this? Two young twenty somethings who share a husband and don’t get along is not exactly groundbreaking stuff.”
Natalie Morales, the Queen of the Obvious, tells us that while the Browns seem like the Average All-American family on TV, the book reveals the painful realities of plural marriage. UGH. First the Average All-American family? Such an overused phrase. Second, the book reveals the pain of plural marriage?? THE FUCKING SHOW SHOW REVEALS THE PAIN OF PLURAL MARRIAGE!
How did Kody feel in the beginning with his two wives? His vision of the perfect “celestial plural marriage” did not match the shitty roommate situation they had going. Six months after marrying, Janelle was pregnant with Logan and Meri was still childless. OMG IS ANYTHING NEW GOING TO COME UP IN THIS INTERVIEW???
“Meri, how hard was it for you to deal with Janelle being pregnant?”
“Well, I could punch you in the boob 100 times and then you could multiply that pain by a bazillion and you’d have an idea how it felt. HOW DO YOU THINK IT FELT?? ARE YOU HIGH? IT SUCKED.”
Janelle didn’t give two shits if Meri got upset, which makes sense because Meri was being an uberbitch to her at the time. Meri wasn’t sad a baby was coming, she was sad it was not hers. Yeah, that still sucks if you’re Janelle
What made Janelle finally snap? Meri talked shit to Janelle about makeup she was wearing, and Janelle lost it. Makeupgate was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Also, this show is loaded with gates. Natalie tries to put the blame at Meri’s feet, as in Meri “MADE” Janelle leave, and Kody awkwardly defends her:
“You and Janelle were not fighting, per se…Meri was…you know, people grow….Meri had a disposition to have a critical analysis…”
Kody, it’s sweet of you to try and defend Meri, but the word you’re looking for here is BITCH. Meri was a bitch to Janelle. That’s okay, it’s in the past.
Meri didn’t have a lot to be un-bitchy about. She was trying to make a really difficult marriage work even though her dreams of sister wife bonding had been flushed down the toilet, and she could not get pregnant. Her body had let her down. I hear that! I’m getting cellulite in places I never dreamed possible. Thanks a lot, aging!
So as well all know, Logan was first, Mariah next, then after Janelle’s fifth child, they experienced S-dubs fallout battle royale, at which point Janelle told Kody she was leaving and she went to her mothers. None of them remember what the fight was actually about. Natalie is not having it; WHAT WAS THE FIGHT ABOUT? No one is going to say even if they did remember. Side stepping the issue, Janelle explains that she was struggling with post-partum depression, they were going thru a remodel and she needed some space.
