Natalie asks, “so you had to hope to fall in love after the marriage?” Natalie, FLDS don’t think sex is a part of love, or at least the sexual attraction is not a part of the love. Janelle wanted to marry Kody because he would sire fine sons; they’re not thinking about the 29 e-Harmony dimensions and shit. Kody insists he and Christine were in love when they married and poor Christine is like “well now I’m wondering.”
Natalie innocently asks if they opened up something with this topic. You mean, did YOU open something up? You brought it up!
“Oh, I’m sorry? Was it inappropriate for me to ask your husband if he thinks you are gross?”
“Yeah, I’m with Janelle. Let’s cut her.”
Christine recognizes that she was more in love with Kody than he was with her. Natalie, ever the astute interviewer, asked if that hurt Christine.
“Yeah, I’m just going ignore you from here on out so I don’t go into a blind rage.”
“More drama! Christine talks about how Meri’s pregnancy stole her thunder and she actually told Meri she hoped that Meri did not get preggers why she was pregnant because Meri’s pregnancy would be a bigger deal than hers. Christine openly admits that was shitty.
“You’re not going to throw me under the bus anymore, Natalie! I’ll do it myself. NEXT QUESTION!”
The ladies don’t have the same views on parenting. Well that was a disaster waiting to happen. This has been especially contentious for Meri and Christine. Based upon what we have seen, Christine has almost no discipline, and Meri doesn’t fuck around. They still have not worked all those issues out, but now Christine can talk to Meri about it. It sucks though, because they were closer before discipline-gate.
Christine admits that she doesn’t trust the S-dubs with everything, and maybe she can open up someday but she is not there yet. Oh, you mean sweet light and airy and open couldn’t stay that way when she joined up with the polygamist battle royale between Meri and Janelle? When Christine says she doesn’t trust her S-dubs, what I hear is that she doesn’t trust them with her feelings; she is not ready to be vulnerable with them.
Teen talk time! Natalie sits down with Logan, Hunter, Mariah, Madison and Aspyn. I like how Natalie sits with them like one of the kids. Don’t trust her, she is going to put words in your mouth!!
Mariah tells Natalie that it is so weird to see her family and their life on TV. At school in Vegas, the other students called them the Cullens because they all hung out in a group.
Natalie asks about dating – the boys say what mom doesn’t know can’t hurt her, hahahaha.
Natalie goes in for the kill – are they going to cash in their V cards before marriage or what? The girls agree that they will wait. The boys feel morally obligated to wait, doesn’t mean they want to. The girls all say that Logan has a lot of girlfriends and he retorts that he got burnt by each one. I’m telling you, poor Logan is the nice friend who gets shit on all the time. He’s growing up to be pretty damn cute, so I think things will get better.
The kids consider all the of the S-dubs their moms. Madison says it sucks when they get in trouble because they have five parents to answer to. What’s to love about polygamy? There are a ton of them, yo! Mariah likes it, Hunter says that there are too many kids. Madison says that they have a huge built in support network, which has clearly been great for them.
Have they read the book? Aspyn read half the book, someone else finished it. The teens claim that they were completely unaware of all the drama. Mariah says she sees her parents as stronger people now that she knows what they have been through; to go from where they were at in the beginning to where they are at now took a lot of work. Logan things are better in the sense that the fighting now is passive aggressive instead of yelling.
