As Shamu gets checked out, Jeff talks about what an eventful journey it’s been for him. He says Shamu has had some highs (when?) and lows (the entire time he’s been there). He also calls Shamu a big cheerleader for his tribe and I wonder just what the hell is laying around on that editing room floor!
Shamu says he’s fought hard and did his best but he’s just in a lot of pain right now. I still am finding it hard to believe this guy is a marine. Damn. I’m thinking I could be a marine and do a better job than him! (Not that I want to be a marine or anything because I don’t.)
Oh. Well. I guess the egg is on my face because the doctor is recommending that he be pulled from the game. Wow. Didn’t see that one coming.
But I do wonder…..just HOW much do you have to rub your eye to get divots in the cornea? And isn’t there anything they could do there to fill them back in?
I bet his whole tribe would be onboard to try that!!
Jeff wonders if there’s anything that they can do out there, but the doctor is not having any of that; he’s gotta go and get it checked out by a specialist. Shamu, the guys that was ready to quit in the last episode, is now crying about leaving.
Jeff is buying this whole thing and seems to actually feel sorry for the dude. He asks if Shamu wants him to bring the tribe in so he can say good bye and of course Shamu does. I think some of them are expecting the same outcome as I was because they seem really surprised to hear that he’s being medically removed.
They all wish him a speedy recovery and he milks it for everything it’s worth, keeping his eyes closed the whole time and telling them that he knows how much they all care about him. He hopes they all do really well. Honestly. And then….
I’m sure Jeff will spend WAY too much time catching up with him when it comes time for the reunion.
Time for the immunity challenge.
Bikal arrives and is a little taken aback to hear that Shamu got pulled from the game.
So obviously Bikal is going to have to sit out two people, but before we get to that let’s let Jeff tell us about this challenge. One person at a time will cross a floating platform and then swim out to another platform that they will have to climb and then use a CLUB???????? To smash a tile releasing a key. They will then get the key and swim back to shore so that the next person can go and so on and so forth until they have retrieved five keys.
