Michael says he’s heard a lot about this dance but never seen it before. He thinks it was wonderful, but wants Dareian or “the gentleman here” to point his feet. We all do Michael, we all do. “The young lady” he thinks had a great performance, but he found her hair distracting.
Billy thinks it’s tough for Janelle because the movement is really all about the guy in this piece (because Mia hated Kherington as well). He thinks whoever this Titch guy is he’s responsible for some great movement.
OY! It’s Twitch! Don’t make me bang(er) your mash!
Nigel thinks Dareian brought better technique than Twitch and Mary cuts in to talk about the passion that Twitch and Kherington brought. Sing it sista!
We’re now moving on to Audrey and Matthew who will be revising “Time” aka Dead Daddy Dance. TRIPLE UGH. I fucking hate this dance so much. I’m so annoyed that we’re being forced to revisit this piece of crap and even more annoyed that these two are the ones saddled with it. It barely has any actual dancing in it for fuck’s sake! ARGH!!!!
Oh, and Audrey loves Nick and Melody’s disco dance from season 1 (which is probably the best disco that’s ever been done on the show but hardly an inspirational moment) and Matthew chooses Ade and Lauren’s Mandy Moore jazz routine from season 7. Really??????
Matthew is happy that Mia is trusting them with this routine. I think she may secretly hate them.
This is the only dance of the evening that I’m NOT including the original. In fact, if I could skip this one and pretend it doesn’t exist, I totally would. Do I even need to tell you that I hated it? But no more (or less) than the original.
Mia looks to be a little teary eyed after their performance, but this dance is one that is super emotional for her so I’m not surprised at all. I’m also not surprised that Mary is crying because large amounts of botox in your brain causes one to be hyper emotional. Also? It can sometimes leak out of your eyes.
Billy thinks that there were some amazing things in there and gives Audrey praise for her pirouette. He thinks Matthew telegraphs movement on stage a bit when he’s going to have to catch Audrey. He wants him to find a way to disguise the effort that goes into that.
Nigel decides to give Audrey and Matthew a pop quiz on Mia’s dad and his death. Such bullshit. It’s obvious that he’s trying to make a point that they didn’t connect to the emotion or do enough research or some bullshit like that. He’s such a jerk.
Time for Chehon and Witney and the Bench Dance. Uh oh. I think this is going to end badly.
