They’ve got hip hop this week with a VERY pregnant Tabitha and Napoleon. The routine is about addiction and Janaya making Brandon chose between her and the booze.
Pleh. I’m sorry, no routine will ever top Mia’s addiction piece.
Mia’s Addiction Routine
I know they’re not really meant to be the same type of feel, but if you’re going to do something about addiction on this show you had better step up to the muther fucking plate! I just didn’t buy this. I didn’t buy their connection, I didn’t buy the struggle from either of them; it really fell flat for me.
Kenny says he believed every word of the story and their bodies were speaking. Nigel says that Tabitha and Napoleon did them a favor here with what they did and didn’t expose the weaknesses of the dancers. He thinks Janaya needs to get more down and dirty with the movement and he’s glad Brandon chose Janaya over the booze because he’s choose Mary over vodka (and then says he drinks Scotch).
I choose the booze. Every time.
Mary loves how deep into character Brandon got, but thinks that Janaya needed to be grittier. Nigel interjects that they are both going to have to do more if they want a chance of sticking around. This is code for Nigel would be very happy if you did not vote for either one of them. Especially Janaya.
Next up we’ve got Alexa and Daniel.
You can tell I have personality because I am showing ALL my teeth to you. Please don’t blame me for all my camera time; it has nothing whatsoever to do with me being in Travis’ dance company.
Did you know I’m Australian? I am. G’day. And all that.
They’ve got a Sean Cheesman jazz routine that looks to be hard as hell. Maybe it’s about hell since they’re both dressed in red!
I know the routine was hard you guys, but there’s no need to try and choke yourselves! While I can appreciate that this routine was no piece of cake, I have to admit that it was another one that didn’t really do it for me. There was a lack of connection between these guys that may have made me like the piece more had it been there.
Nigel makes sure to point out that the routine is really super difficult which means if they end up in the bottom we can look forward to getting lectured about how the audience doesn’t know about dance. This only happens when people Nigel has boners for end up in the bottom, any other time he’ll remind us that it’s about the FAVORITE dancer, not the best one.
Anyway, he thinks they did a good job, but tells them that he’d like for them to take the time to really connect with each; simply plastering a smile on your face isn’t going to cut it. He thinks they both showed what they’re capable of and he hopes it keeps them in the competition.
Mary agrees with Nigel, but thinks they looked red hot and it was so exciting to watch. Kenny thinks they conquered the routine as an exercise but not as a performance. I completely agree with that comment. He doesn’t feel that they were as invested in it as he would have liked for them to be.
Up Next are Amber and Nick.
Yes, my earrings are hula hoops. What of it?
My dad works at the Playboy mansion so I get to oogle hot girls that I have no hope of EVER getting with!!
