Are you ready for our first round of eliminations, Gasmi? I am and I’m not. It’s not that I don’t want to lose anyone. After all, that’s part of the process. But I’m still annoyed that we’re starting out the season by losing double the dancers we normally would. I can feel in my bones that someone is about to get royally screwed.
I hope it’s me! I’ve heard that Elizabeth is quite randy!
He is so gross.
Just like last week, we jump right into the opening group number.
You know, Tabitha and Napoleon may irritate me a lot, but every now and then they pull something really great or fun out (like last week’s kitty pop) and this is another one I really enjoyed. There is a but coming. As much as I enjoyed the piece, it is also not lost on me that this number was built to camouflage Cyrus. He’s featured and yet not. There’s not sight of him when difficult choreography is being presented.
I think you all know that I really like the guy, but I also can’t pretend not to notice that they are doing all they can to hide his flaws. I think Nigel would really like to see him stick around for a while. Really, I’m betting that he’s hoping that Cyrus will have an “AHA” moment and really step up like some have done in the past. That’ll be great if it happens, but honestly, as much as I really do like the kid, I’m thinking it’s not going to happen.
Have I mentioned Cat looks gorgeous tonight? Red is definitely her color.
Does anyone not love Cat????
Joining Mary and Nigel tonight at the judges table is Adam Shankman, who at least will have something interesting to add from a dance perspective, right?
I’ll Step Up and be a good judge!
Oh, don’t roll your eyes at me! If he can spend all night on shameless plugs surely I can add ONE!!
Nigel goes into his National Dance Day bullshit again. I love how Nigel never fails to make this day all about him and So You Think You Can Dance.
I tried to get my own face on one of these stamps, but the post office said I had to wait til Halloween.
Cat tells us that later in the evening we’re going to get a special sneak peek of Step Up Revolution, plus a performance from some of the shows stars. But more on that later.
You know what the best thing is about the beginnings of these seasons? Less filler, more dancing! And now that we’ve cut out the filler show of results and combined them with the performance show, well, there’s even less time for filler! I love it.
