So we’re getting right into the dancing and tonight we’re starting with Cole and Lindsay. They’ll be performing a Christopher Scott hip hop number which is about a visit to a dentist who is not your average dentist.
Nigel wanted this costume, but the censors turned him down.
Does anyone else think the whole nerd thing has been way overdone? It seems like everywhere I go there’s at least a dozen nerd routines. I honestly don’t know what to make of this. They dance it well, but it seemed a little light in the difficulty department, didn’t it?
Holy Shit! Chris Scott’s upper lip is missing!! How did I never notice that before?
It’s like he’s Lindsay’s long lost twin or something.
Nigel thinks it was a fun way to start the show. He thinks Cole did a great job with the character and says something about how he did it all week. Talk about dedication! He pervs out a bit how Lindsay would be an inspiration for anyone to go to the dentist. He makes me want to barf.
Mary thinks it was terrific. She thinks Lindsay could have been a little vampire, but she still thought it was great. Adam is creeped out by Cole sticking so much to his character. He says that if his pants were hiked up that high he would be stressed out too. LOL, Adam. He tells Lindsay that in these character pieces you have to attack it and she needed a deeper investment. He also says it’s Jennifer Aniston in Horrible Bosses, so it looks like Adam and I were on the same page.
Next up are Amelia and Will. They’ve got a Sonya Tayeh contemporary piece that she tells us is about two souls carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, searching for the light at the end of the tunnel. She calls it heavy, treacherous, and desperate.
What’s with Will’s high waisted pants? Yikes! That aside, I really loved this dance. I think this is a great second piece for them, going from a super fun, personality filled routine last week to a more soulful, technically challenging piece this week. Great job by both of them here. And like I said last week, I think the less we get of Amelia and her quirk, the better.
Mary screams. Obviously she loved it. Adam is up on his feet clapping at their performance. He tells Amelia that she is brilliant; her lines were perfect, she was completely lost in the piece and she took him on that journey with her. He tells Will that he totally stepped it up and then says, yes, that was totally a movie plug.
Look like someone forgot the name of his own movie!
