Whatever, Nigel. You’re not my dance dad you colossal nincompoop. Oh, and he also quotes Balanchine. Gasmi, have I told you lately what an arrogant asshole I think he is?
Mary says she loves that Travis didn’t hold back. That’s really is a crock of shit. Sure he didn’t hide Cyrus (which would be pretty hard to do in a DUET), but he still relegated him to the role of forklift. Again, lifting is hard, but other than that, Cyrus spent most of the dance walking. I like the guy, but what else is there really to say? He needs a major WOW moment, and I think we all know he’s not gonna get it.
We’re moving on now to Chehon who has been paired with Lauren “Devil Spawn” Gottlieb. UGH. I hate this dance and I didn’t even see it yet. They’ll be doing a Dave Scott hip hop routine that involves Chehon leaning on Lauren. Literally. Of course Chehon is super nervous because ballet and hip hop are such different beasts. He should be more nervous that he dancing with the spawn on Satan. Juss sayin.
At least it’s a lyrical hip hop number so that helps him a little bit, but Chehon is not really able to let go of his center and get down into the ground as much as he really should. I really like the guy, but we’re not getting an Alex Wong “Holy Shit! The ballet guy just killed hip hop!” move.
Nigel is a total dick and thanks Dave Scott for getting the stick out of Chehon’s ass.
I wish someone would smack the smirk off of your face!
Please, please PLEASE let me be the one to do it!
Mary knew that this wasn’t easy for him and she says she could definitely feel his nerves a bit. She wanted it to be a little more funky, and while it was okay, it wasn’t the best for her tonight.
Benjamin thinks the looseness that Chehon brought to the piece is pretty remarkable given his training. He also thinks that Chehon is really charismatic and that came across as well.
Of course we can’t escape a Sir BitchyPants routine! Poor George has been saddled with his choreography, but at least he gets Allison (and jazz), so it’s not the total fuck over that a Broadway routine would be from him.
Because it’s Sir Bitchypants, there is some over complicated story about George missing his train and passing the time with Allison.
This is not my favorite. They dance the steps well, but I felt no chemistry between them. And Allison really REALLY tried.
