Mary thinks that George is lucky to have danced with Allison and it was a lot of fun to watch. She could tell George was having a good time. Benjamin is a fan of George’s and thinks he’s a really really good mover. He thinks he did exceptionally well.
Nigel is not loving it as much as the other two. He thinks George’s technique is tremendous, but he didn’t believe the character and thought it was a little immature. Mary tells the audience to boo Nigel, but it should be noted that until prompted, no one was booing that critique. Nuff said.
Let’s move on to Eliana. She gets to dance with Alex FREAKING Wong and they’ll be performing a Stacy Tookey contemporary number. Stacy tells us that this piece is about a relationship that’s been going on again off again, but it is just too good to let go. Translation: Alex has a ginormous dick. What? I’ve had one of these relationships too so I know what I’m talking about!
It’s so nice to see Eliana dance with someone that’s as good as she is. I’m not trying to crack on Cyrus again, but it’s always been difficult on this show when a really great technical dancer gets paired with someone that’s not as advanced. And I always live it when we get to really see them go at it. I thought she did a really great job here; it was a little overdramatic for my taste, but other than that, I liked it a lot.
They get the first standing ovation of the night form the judges, although I don’t think Benjamin really wanted to stand up. Whether that was from laziness or lack of that level of enthusiasm for the dance, who knows?
Nigel says this is what he’s talking about when he talks about maturity in movement. He also tells Eliana that she is his favorite girl. Poor thing.
Mary thinks the performance was layered like the perfect tiramisu and it was by far her favorite routine of the evening. Delicious! Benjamin thinks it was a great dance, great song, beautifully executed technique and full of passion. He loved it.
And now we’re down to the last pairing. Audrey gets Twitch for her all-star and of course they are dancing a hip hop routine! Choreography by Dave Scott. The story behind this one is they are a 400 year old couple that has a love hate thing going on across the centuries. Sounds like my parents! The 400 year old part.
