The first dance of the evening will be Tiffany’s. She’s been paired up with Benji (season 2 winner) for a Jean-Marc Generaux jive. Oh. Yeaaah. It’s clear that they are having a great time in rehearsal and if nothing else, the routine should be a lot of fun.
Holy Smokes! This dance was BANANAS!!! Benji is just as great in the style as he was when he was a contestant o the show, but Tiffany actually keeps up with him!!! They are so fantastic together and it’s obvious that they are having a blast. I swear I was grinning from ear to ear during this performance.
Benji is adorable after and seems genuinely excited and happy to be here, and it’s really good to see him on the show again. The judges loved it as well and we start the evening with a standing ovation.
Cat says she can’t stop giggling. It’s like adorable overload right now. Nigel says the energy that was just generated lifted the entire audience.
Poor Tiffany; she almost made it through the season without Nigelboner to deal with.
Nigel tells Benji that without question he has always been the best swing dancer they have ever had on this series, but that Tiffany actually kept up with him. Tremendous.
Mary calls them amazing and says that Tiffany had great technique; she thinks they were living it up there. She tells Tiffany if she were to enter a swing contest tomorrow she would be winner.
Christina tells everyone that she and Benji have actually taken dance classes together and not only is he a phenomenal ballroom dancer, but he’s also pretty great at contemporary as well. She says she was worried about Tiffany keeping up with Benji, but like everyone else, she applauds Tiffany for keeping up with him. So basically, everyone loved it.
The first solo of the evening id Witney’s but before she dances, he parents have a few words to say about her.
Being her dad cannot be easy. Witney dances and it’s basically the same sexy pose solo she does all the time but in a long skirt. Pleh.
Cole is up next. He’s got Melanie for his all-star, and together they are going to dancing a Sonya jazz number.
Cole goes through all the dark and evil “personalities” he’s been asked to embody throughout the season (I guess nerd dental patient didn’t fit in so they left that one out) and he tells us that Sonya is trying to present a softer side of him in this routine. So the piece is about Melanie trying to leave him and him not being able to let her go. Um. Okay. Doesn’t seem light and fluffy to me, but what the hell do I know?
