There was something missing from this for me and I’m not quite sure what it is. I dunno, it didn’t really feel to me like we were getting a different side to Cole, and I swear a couple of times it looked like they flubbed lifts. This just left me a little cold.
Mary thinks it was gorgeous and that Cole totally kept up with Melanie which is not something that happens often. She really loves how Melanie was lifting Cole just as much as he was lifting her.
Christina says that Melanie is magical before moving on to Cole. She thinks he is masterful and powerful and he is amazing in everything that he does. She does say that he had an unpointed foot in one of his pirouettes, but she doesn’t give a shit because he is so fantastic. She tells him they will see him next week because he is awesome.
A spoiler alert would be nice next time Christina!
Nigel really liked the gender role reversal in the number and I am a little surprised because usually anything outside of gender “norms” makes him really uncomfortable.
Discovering the joy of a finger up the arse has opened me up to whole new perspective.
He also thinks that Sonya was trying to show Coles vulnerability and how there’s great strength in that. He thinks for being such a unique dancer Cole has done fabulously in the competition and they are thrilled to have him here.
The next solo of the evening belongs to Chehon and his mom is just as adorable this week as she was last time around.
I just want her carry her around in my pocket. Well, if I was a giant I’d want to do that, but you know what I mean.
His does a beautiful solo, a darker version of others he’s done with the amazing leaps and turns he does so well. I’m already stressing out because I think he’s probably going to home tonight and I really don’t want that to happen.
It’s now Eliana’s turn and she’s been paired with Twitch for a Christopher Scott hip hop routine. He tells us this piece is about a hot ballet dancer (nooooo, really????) who has the hots for her mailman.
Note to Christopher Scott: Please stop choreographing hip hop routines to oldies music. While it’s a good idea in theory, it SUCKS in reality. Thank you. This was not good at all. Oof.
Christina says that sure, Eliana is probably not going to get hired to dance in the next Jay-Z video, but she doesn’t give a shit because she could still watch Eliana dance all day. In fact, what is the equivalent of a dancer singing the yellow pages? That’s what she would watch Eliana do.
I surrender to your awesomeness
