Let’s practice picking daddy out of a line-up.

Aubree turns to alcohol to make the pain go away.
Chelsea goes to meet her friend for lunch and to show off her promise ring. Her friend is thrilled to pieces and thinks it’s a great step. Then again, this is the same friend that got pregnant hoping to get on the show, only to not get on the show. Chelsea also explained that she thinks she’s going to have to quit her job because she got into a fight with the manager at Year Round Brown because she had to work ten hours at minimum wage, cleaning people’s sweat.
Okay, now, let’s look at this… You’re an idiot. You got knocked up. You dropped out of school. You love to tan. You work at a tanning salon. And you’re not happy because you aren’t paid more for wiping down a few beds everyday? I wish Aubree would learn to brush her own hair, because she’d probably be able to score a higher-paying job than her mom anyway.
They discuss giving two weeks notice, but Chelsea hates confrontation, so she’s not sure. Megan’s face looks like she may have sun poisoning… just saying.
He promised that it was a real diamond and that he wouldn’t cheat.
This is how the world reacted.
Jenelle is having a bad day… her car broke down and her mom only loaned her enough money to buy a brand new one. When my car breaks down, I have it fixed. Then again, I don’t do a lot of things that Jenelle does. She’s put out by it all. She says that her classes are going well but that she has to worry about her probation and drug test.
I can’t believe I have to buy a new car, again.
What a piece of crap. Your mother must not love you. Wanna get high?
Her attorney calls to tell her to be really careful because her parole officer “is really on her ass” and that annoys Jenelle. It’s so sad that the world is so against Jenelle… she tries so hard, but the world just keeps knocking her down. It’s not her fault she’s a pathetic drug addict who gave up custody of her kid to live with a homeless guy.
You can count on me, Mr. Attorney. BTW, are you carrying?

This is the closest I will come to watching this show. Nice recap! I have heard of Janelle and her antics and want to punch her in the head. And Chelsea’s hair is hideous. Anyhoo, keep up the good work!
Ugh janelle and Chelsea make me insane. Their parents may not be prefect but they do a hell of a lot to help out their kids but are treated like shit by their ungrateful brats. Janelle putting Jace on hold….is this news? Isn’t that what she’s done to the poor kid his entire life? And nice friends…who offers weed to someone on probation? I love randy and really want him to stop giving Chelsea money!

Chelsea. Sigh. She really does look like the Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz. Kinda talks like him too. I never noticed before how unkemp Aubree was. Her hair is kind of out of control and that straight thin baby fine that makes it hard to keep in barrettes so I was giving her a pass on having problems with it but your screenshots clearly show her hair being greasy and uncombed right before they left for the party. That’s a surprise to me. Chelsea is such dim bulb it makes my brain hurt to listen to her. I also hate her apartment – it’s so dark in there, like it has no windows whatsoever, just four walls closing in on her. I get claustrophobic just watching the scenes in her apartment. I think the reason Chelsea hasn’t yet passed her GED (aside from being stupid) is that she also knows that once she makes that hurdle she is expected to enroll in the ever elusive ‘beauty school’ and she has no desire to get on with her working life. She is delaying that day as long as she can. As long as she is ‘working toward it’ by ‘studying for her GED’ she’s on Easy Street with her Dad. I want to hit her soooooo bad it’s like an ache.
You had me at “that kid is not that cute”. Everyone is on the Aubree train but me. I just don’t see it. Then again, nuggets have to be fat to be cute to me, hence the saying “fat nuggets,” so I really only love Isaac and Ali.
Oh, I also think my comment in the last recap about less sap and more snark might have come across the wrong way. I didn’t mean you were too sappy. I was complimenting you. You came roaring off the starting line with no sympathy, which is A-OK with me.
I think you strike just the right amount of sap v snark balance in your recaps so far. And the snark is soooooo well deserved on this one. These girls are a hot mess.
I agree, because I do think Kailyn deserves a little sap. Her mom is infuriating, and she really does have as level of a head a girl with her upbringing can have.
I think Aubree looks like Chelsea’s mom – poor kid. Speaking of Chelsea’s mom – can she complete her mid-life crisis already and attempt to dress/act her age and realize she’s chubby and skin tight clothing and jewelery is a DON”T – Lane Bryant is calling please answer.
Year Round Brown has lost an awesome employee. Chelsea is to work as Janelle is to sobriety.
Did anybody catch the aftershow where Kail fessed up the her son is named after the oldest Hanson (mmm bop) brother. WTF is up with these girls and idolizing rock stars (Ke$ha, Issac) make it stop!

Chelsea is probs my least fav in terms of “how long could I be in a room with one of them without hurting someone”. I’d smack her first. Jenelle would prob kick my ass so hopefully kailyn would have my back. Leah would be too busy fake, ugly crying.
And from last recap. I know people think Corey had his priorities out of whack when he picked a truck over a new trailer. My only thought it that there was also a driving distance work thing. And if Leah can always have her nails done and be orange, a hard working man should have a truck. (But the video of how she had to bathe the girls was a little too depressing.)

I’m starting to think that perhaps Randy’s cheating is what broke up the marriage with “There’s mah behbay” Mom – but only Chelsea knows he was with another man and a pygmy goat, so Randy basically gives her a free ride so she won’t tell. Hey – that could be it – you don’t know his life!

@Madelyne27 When you typed “bath” instead of “bathe”, I thought you did that on purpose cause I can almost swear that Leah said last season that she had to “bath” her kids. I’m not 100% positive about this cause I have a short term memory these days, but I seem to remember laughing at her for that. Does that ring a bell for anyone else, or am I making stuff up?

Leah absolutely said “bath” her kids. Which confuses me, because she and everyone surrounding her has a WAY thicker Southern accent than 90% of the people I’ve met in Louisville and Elkview WV is pretty much a parallel line from here, if not a little more north.
Every time I hear the name Year Round Brown my mind automatically goes to skid marks. I have no idea why, but it’s number 167 on why that’s a terrible name for a business.
You’re right, Aubree does look just like her grandma. I wonder, if Chelsea didn’t have that cheesepuff look going on in her face if she’d look like her mom, too. Poor Aubree.
I come down clearly on the side of Corey getting a truck. He had to go to work and he needed a replacement truck, that’s important. Leah never really gave a shit about Corey’s work or needs from what I recall. She was very happy to send him off to work in the mines if that got them more money. I realize that is a good and honorable job and they are in WV and all but if I loved my man and he said he was going to try to go down in a mine to pay for more stuff for me I’d pitch a fit. Leah was all ‘Yeah! Great idea! Go on down there!’ Made me think she had a hefty life insurance policy on him or something.
Naw man.
The house they were living in was raggedy. And it’s not even just about the bathing situation with the girls (although that was horrific enough) but the whole place was crumbling around their ears. Plus, I think Ali had to be going to Leah’s mom’s for physical therapy because their house was too far for the therapist to come, so Leah wanted to move closer to the therapist.
On the other side of the coin, nothing was wrong with Corey’s old truck. He was driving around in it just fine.
Plus, in all the discussions/arguments about him getting a new one, I never remember him saying that his was broken. He just kept saying that he wanted a new one.
And even if his wasn’t working perfectly, the bottom line is that it was still running. It was still getting him from Point A to Point B. In fact, I’m sure he traded it in to get the new one he has now. Nothing was wrong with that truck. It just wasn’t as flashy and cool as his new one.
So for me, the choice is simple.
If there’s something fundamentally wrong with the house and nothing fundamentally wrong with the truck, well then, you replace the house first. Then you do the truck later.
And after Leah got the new house and went to it with the girls, she did tell Corey that she wanted him to come with them. He could have gone and that would have been that.
He decided not to.
I give Corey props because he’s the only dad on TM2 who seems to genuinely care for his kids and who treats his baby mama with some modicum of respect.
But I hate how people try to make it out like Corey was perfect and Leah was the only one who did wrong, when they both had a hand in why the relationship did not work. Maybe what Leah did seems more overtly hurtful, but Corey didn’t listen to Leah at all during their marriage and was too proud to try to reconcile with her, even when she tried to work it out with him.
So he doesn’t get a pity party from me. >__>
Also, I heard he did end up buying a new house shortly after buying the truck. He knew his old house was a broke down shame.
don’t the moms get paid by MTV? how do they still live so poorly? I feel like the kids on teen mom (one) were flaunting their MTV money around more even though they were pretending to be poor and full of struggle.
If they don’t get paid, I understand Leah’s living situation but if they do, she should do better.
And I’m also thinking that maybe the reason Chelsea still hasn’t gotten her GED is that she’s getting MTV money and maybe the MTV money is also what keeps Adam around. he obviously doesn’t care about Chelsea or his daughter.

Have you looked at any of the “How To Get The Chelsea Look” videos on youtube? There are girls that want that to happen to their hair.
It’s 1 of the main reasons so many people think the world’s getting tuned up to end.
Jenelle and Barb are both batshit crazy. I made a promise last yr that I wouldn’t type any other words besides that about them any more. Because so many people caught the carpal tunnel from all the scrolling.
I apologize for having to break go back on my word. But Jenelle’s started having supernatural issues. Channeling somebody from the “maverick church group” that put up the $ for Reefer Madness back in the 1930s. She talks about weed like it was speedballs dipped in ecstasy. Not to mention the only problem she’s got.
When the real problem she’s got is that Jenelle and Barb are both batshit crazy.
@Cheergirl They get paid. But even with insurance I bet pretty much any $ they get ahold of goes straight to pay down Ali’s doctor bills.
@chaos, you’re right… i forgot about the travel for the physical therapy… but as for the condition of all their homes… kailyn lives in like a section 8, affordable housing. jenelle’s at home. chelsea needs her dad. and leah has a trailer… it makes me wonder if mtv somehow gives them money for things like tanning, cars, nails, etc… but not really “paychecks”… bc kailyn wouldn’t be able to get into section 8 if she had mtv money… just a thought. hopefully it’s all put away for the kid’s future rehab/bail/therapy bills.

I remember people were going hmm for a mess of different reasons. Some of them opposite. Because you always wonder what all’s set up for the show. Anyway she was there for like 2-3 mo. Then her MTV check came and she got a rental from 1 of her friend’s moms.
She and Javi just got married a few wks ago but if they bought a house yet it’d be all over the place.
All the 16 and Teen Moms are confusing because it’s always what happened like a yr ago. But since they’re all in the tabloids and all over the internet by the time the show comes on we’re just as much ahead of it as they are.
Apparently Chelsea’s hair is some kind of phenomena that teenage girls are trying to emulate now (No, seriously. Just search for “Chelsea Houska hair tutorial” on Youtube.) To me, she looks like she stole one of Jan Crouch’s wigs (minus the pink).
I was watching this last week with my 18-year-old cousin and she thinks Adam is really hot. I…can’t even. Not only is he scrawny and doesn’t own a whole shirt, but he’s SUCH A DOUCHE. Is this what teenagers find attractive nowadays?? I hope to God she grows out of this personality-doesn’t-matter-as-long-as-he’s-attractive phase.
I was dying when Adam gave Chelsea that ring. He could barely muster up an entire sentence when he practically threw it into her lap. There was absolutely NO emotion behind it either. I think he’s only pretending to stay around for the MTV paycheck and a place to park his motorcycle.
As for Jenelle, that car is hideous. It’s like people who go out and intentionally buy a Chrysler Pacifica. Who does that?

Kailyn makes me sad too. She makes some really stupid decisions, but I think her upbringing and crappy family has make her so cold towards everyone. I keep screaming at her to stop doing stuff behind Jo’s back because you know he’s just going to get pissed. He’s an ass, but I think they’d co-parent much better if they talked things out instead him having to find out things through his lawyer.
I’d have to go watch it again since I wasn’t paying that much attentions, but I think Leah said she lost FIFTEEN pounds. I don’t think she COULD lose 50 pounds unless she lost a couple of limbs or something. Unless she meant since she was pregnant…which I doubt since she said “since Corey left”. She could also just be stupid and thinks she lost 50 pounds.
I love that you are so honest about the babies. My mom is one of those people who thinks all babies are gorgeous. Me? Not so much. Some babies are really ugly and/or weird looking. They usually grow up to look normal, but all features don’t translate so well on a baby.
And if you all need any West Virginian translating done, let me know. I was born and raised just a few hours from Cory and Leah, so I’m pretty fluent.

Chelsea’s hair……oh man. I have seen girls with that “scene look” (google it, if ya dont know) and their hair, ratted as it is, looks cute and looks like it has a purpose for their overall “look”.

According to Amber’s court documents these girls get paid $280,000 per year. My cousin is a doctor and doesn’t even make that much. I wonder how many other teen moms make that much. So much for reality. I’m sure MTV doesn’t show their true financial situations in order to make the girls seem more real and relate able.
It’s possible that the teen mom season 1 girls made more money that our season 2′s. Who knows? Maybe some of that money is going into the babies accounts (I sure hope so..), obviously a lot has to be going to legal aid- at least when it comes to Jenelle and Amber. It’s an interesting question about the money though.. If they really do make that much money, then WHY are they in a trailor? I could see why that piece of crap boyfriend of Chelsea’s sticking around though, if she’s making that money he can basically just ride his stupid dirt bike and be a bum, which seems to come pretty naturally for him thus far. Looks like Chelsea has really good parents, so it’s hard to understand how she could be such a screw-up, and why she would even be attracted to a guy like that.. I do feel for Kailyn. She’s not perfect, but at least she seems to be genuine and trying to be a good mom and make the best for her son. She has shitty parents (did any of you see season 1 when she met her dad for the 1st time? Pretty pathetic!), yet she is level-headed and trying to be a good parent herself, even though she obviously didn’t have any support, or much love, growing up. I do feel for her, and actually can relate to her. The others…. I think Chelsea is a total spoiled brat! Janelle, I don’t know.. She has some issues, but she seems to blame everything on everybody else. She needs to grow up and take responsibility. Her mom does seem a bit nutso too, but I think she has potential (Janelle), but she really needs to go to like one of those long term rehab facilities to help her learn how to live and how to be an emotionally responsible human being, and mother. I think there is hope for her though. Leah.. I don’t know. She just needs to stop focusing on herself and start focusing on her girls. In the end, that’s all that matters. Once you become a mom, that’s your first priority- your kids.
I’m thinking season two make much less money because of the back lash MTV received when people found out the salaries of Teen Mom 1.
I am not sure Corey is so selfish that he got the truck instead of the house. Nothing on the show would lead me to believe that. There had to be a reason why he needed the truck first. He seems to love those babies so much that he probably didn’t want them living in that environment.
Mtv most def does try to camoflague the fact that these people/morons (Chelsea) have a higher annual salary than your average PhD. In Teen Mom 1 they made Tyler and Kait park an old beater car out front and would rarely show them up against Ty’s brand new red Cadillac – same with Kyle’s red BMW. They would just show they inside the car where you really could not tell.
Even if Teen Mom 2 took a 50% pay cut – why in the hell would Chelsea even remotely entertain the idea of getting a education or working as she would never ever ever reach that salary level on her own and that is EXACTLY why Adam $tay$ – the promi$e ring a$$ures that.
In the last picture of Chelsea on this recap – she bears an uncanny resemblance to CeCe of Poison’s Talk Dirty To Me video.
My god, other than Kailen they are all SUCH horrible people. Kail is no angel but I do give her a slight pass for her god awful mother. With what I can only imagine her childhood from infancy to teen years must have been like, it is amazing that she is the lone member of this cast who is even halfway decent.

Jenelle’s car looks like an HHR to me. My friends family had like 5 of them and I have no idea why. I do actually like Jenelle though… just not any of her actions. If she found a way to not do all of that bad stuff I would not mind the girl.

@Classy, yes, she is now – but not before. Her paying rent is a recent development. She even says “I pay my own rent now”. I’m pretty sure there was something that made it explicitly obvious that he paid for her in previous seasons, but I can’t remember what.
I’m not saying my parents didn’t help me in college……in…..college…..childless, not struggling to get the GED (?!) and making blatant piss-poor decisions in other areas. In my opinion, Chelsea needs to be accomplishing something to deserve the help she gets.
And it’s not just that she’s struggling to get the GED, it’s that she’s putting the GED on the back burner; two entirely different entities I guess.
i remember last season, right after she got a job at the brown round, she wrote a check to her dad and made a big deal that it was the first check she ever wrote. but i think he owned that house anyway. but this episode she did say that she paid her own rent, so her dad shouldn’t be able to say anything about adam living there… BUT, seeing as he told adam to move out and apparently sat at the house and watched him until his stuff was gone, he clearly has some financial hold over her…
and it’s fine… she’s 20 and they can still support her… but i think they do too much. bc she does nothing. even with a part-time job, she still wasn’t a contributing member of society. she’s a spoiled brat and i do think she’s struggling to get the GED, she might not be trying right now… but she’ll struggle. i don’t see her as being smart… jenelle i bet is v smart. kailyn seems like she works really hard… and leah’s school was probably not as hard as normal schools…
I’m a few months older than Chelsea and finished college like seven months ago, so I understand the need for parental support when you’re still learning how to be an adult.
But my problem with Randy continuing to give her money is that she doesn’t do anything to deserve it.
She isn’t serious about getting an education.
She isn’t serious about her intended career.
She isn’t serious about having a job in the interim.
She isn’t serious about her emotional or mental health, because she keeps going back to Adam.
Everything Randy has asked her to do over the years in exchange for his financial support, she has not done.
And every time she has made some kind of progress in life, she slides right back to where she was.
By now, he should have cut her off, if for no other reason than to force her to get serious.
