They go to lunch and Michael tells Farrah that he thinks this change is going to affect him and Debra more than anyone. Somehow I doubt that. He asks Farrah what her plans are, but her natural response is to get mad and shut him down immediately. She has no plans to start school, get a job, or get Sophia into pre-school. She just wants to take the summer off to relax. I love how easy-going these kids’ lives are. I mean, really. I have never met a single teenage mom who wasn’t busting her ass 24/7.
Michael notes that he’d be happy to move down to Ft. Lauderdale for support if he can find a job there. I think everyone is scrambling to get out from under Debra’s thumb, but do you really want to run off to be closer to your heathen of a daughter? I’m kinda’ hoping a hurricane does hit. Just a little one. Directly aimed at Farrah. Doing no harm or damage other than taking Farrah far, far away. Maybe it can whisk her off to Africa where she can complain to the poverty-stricken about how dirty it is and that they need to have better food available to her.
Gary is visiting his lawyer to figure out how to take Leah to visit Amber in rehab. That’s so sad that two parents can’t be in the same room as their own child. I really hope Amber’s bullshit doesn’t affect Leah too badly. Oh, who am I kidding?
Gary calls Amber to let her know that he is trying to get permission to bring Leah along to rehab for their “therapeutic session”. This session had better be good since there have been 2 episodes stringing us along about it. Amber is very somber and calm while she whines to Gary to come a week earlier. It really seems as though they have her on tranqs. I don’t think you’re supposed to control anger with narcotics, but what do I know? I make no attempt at controlling my own anger.
It’s time to break the news to Ryan that Maci will be joining in on his family vacation. Ryan seems to have seen this one coming. I hate Ryan, but poor guy. Maci just gets more and more psycho as this show progresses. She asks the question that is clearly the most important to her – who all is going? It’s Ryan, his parents, Tyler, and Ryan’s girlfriend. Maci is upset he has a girlfriend. I used to think it was Ryan that still wanted Maci, but it’s obviously the other way around now. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Kyle doesn’t seem too terribly invested. I think Kyle’s dating Maci for Bentley. I know I would.
Back at Gary’s, Gary’s Mom brings over Leah. Gary explains that he’s trying to have CPS allow him to take Leah with him to visit Amber. Gary’s Mom isn’t at all thrilled by this. She’s worried about Leah having to deal with Amber being in and out of the picture. While Gary’s mom is being realistic, Gary is unreasonably hopeful that Amber will be much better after getting out of rehab. If only you knew what we know, Gary. 5 years in the clink, buddy. Chola is not going to be in Leah’s life until she’s in 2nd grade. And, as we all know, prison doesn’t reform, but makes better criminals.
Catelynn’s father and brother fly up from Florida to attend graduation. Catelynn’s little brother was paralyzed in a horrible car accident a few years ago. I continue to be amazed at how well these two deal with all of the crap life has thrown their way. Just amazed. I love these kids. Tyler’s phone rings – it’s Butch. He’s not getting out until the day after graduation. He said he can’t afford to buy him anything, but he can get him a card. Not a Hallmark card, but he can get one from the 99 cent section. Is Butch even literate? I’ll die if he brings Tyler a Mother’s Day card from the Mahogany section.
