Boys Ruin Everything
Carrie comes out of her internship and look who is waiting?? Mr Big George and his limo… and two cups of hot chocolate.
Mr. Little
“Winters are tough in NYC.” Oh yeah, no snow and a boyfriend with hot chocolate and a limo. How WILL you survive, Miss Bradshaw?
At school, Carrie the klutz trips and Sebastian catches her.
I’ve fallen for you
There is a sizzle between them she couldn’t deny. She is caught between 2 guys- Brenda and Kelly- whoops, George and Sebastian.
Back at her internship, Carrie addresses cards, while George helps. Carrie is worried that if Barbara catches them she won’t think Carrie is taking her job seriously- so she tells George he needs to leave. Bitchy Barbara breezes in, with her hair down- doing the walk of shame- an hour and a half late.

Babs got laid, and is wearing the same clothes she wore the day before. She couldn’t be happier. She begs Carrie and George not to tell Harlan.
Over at the Diner, Carrie, Mags and Mouse are gossiping about what a ho Barbara is. Mouse wonders what kind of woman puts a man before her career. Well, you are probably sitting with two of them, Mouse. Yeah, Mags says- she can either spend the rest of her life answering phones or straddling some guy. Mouse is revolted because Babs is OLD- she’s like, 40. Carrie says “Smother me with a pillow if we are still dating in our 30’s!!!” Yep, I have the pillow all readddddddy. But for now, they are all happy to have cute boyfriends. Mags and Mouse encourage Carrie to ask George to the Winter Dance… mostly so she can rub him in Sebastian’s face. Carrie isn’t sure, he’s older and she doubts he would be into it. The girls thing that Carrie is still into Sebastian. These two are a couple of Magnum PIs.
Aloha
Whasssup Losers??!!??
Oh look who is here! Super Vixen Donna LaDonna sashays into The Diner with the Jenns, Donna greets them “Hello Carrie, Maggie and Carrie and Maggie’s smart friend.” Donna thanks Carrie for taking Sebastian in on Thanksgiving. Carrie is surprised that Donna knows about that, she comes to the conclusion that Thanksgiving meant more to her than it did to Sebastian.
At home, Dad goes through the mail and comes across an envelope containing tickets to The Nutcracker- obviously meant for Mom. It was her tradition to take The Dorrit to see The Nutcracker every year. Dad is like- I wonder what to do with these tickets???? Carrie, in all of her infinite wisdom, suggest he take The Dorrit. He’s been looking for a way to connect with The Dorrit, so unless he wants to score a dime bag of ganga and a feathered roach clip, this might be the thing.

ugh, i was hoping we were rid of larissa, too. i can’t stand her. and how she still (still? ever did) thinks carrie is a “grown woman” is beyond me. or why she would think a “grown woman” would quit her so-called job to do a stupid internship at a magazine. HELLO, LARISSA?! wtf is wrong with you? seriously, go away already.
i want carrie’s dance dress. seriously. although it seems a little outlandish for just a random school dance (even in the ’80s? someone help me out here. maybe it wasn’t).
i was actually sad about the mouse-seth breakup. they were so cute and nerdy, all heartbroken over losing their relationship for the sake of some a-pluses.
Finally, George steps up at the end of this episode and represents for the guys i remember in back high school. That dress would have been awesome in the 80′s, but our tea length ones had less rhinestones and more big bows (big bows were a trend – either in front across the boobs or on the back).
I have a brain fart every Monday at 8:00pm. I don’t know why, but I always think the show is on at 9:00.
Maybe I can’t get into this because I liked the group dynamic in Sex and this is just Carrie and all her suburban weirdness.
I think Sebastian and Donna should have a baby together just so we can see what its lips would be like. Yes, these are fictional characters, but work with me here, people.
Oh, and thank you MisRed for the pic of the still-hot-at-68 Tom Selleck.
Carrie’s makeup at the dance is so late 90s that I can’t see anything else (I didn’t watch the episode, I just read your awesome recaps). It looks like she’s wearing CoverGirl Ice Slicks. Does anyone else remember those pencils?
