Back at the house, Knight continues to call Nany a bitch, and she yells at him FOREVER. He deserved it, though, because he is being SUCH A FUCKING SHITHEAD. I don’t even know how to put it into words, other than to say it’s been several challenges since we’ve seen this level of blatant disrespect towards the women.
Pretty much the whole house is involved, and it comes full circle since Jemmye and Camila started it, cause Knight to yell at Camila, causing Nany to yell at Knight, causing Jemmye to come to Nany’s defense. It’s utterly ridiculous, and all over the word bitch, apparently? Not the C word, which he also used? And sometimes they bleep “bitch” out, and sometimes they don’t?
SIDEBAR #1: She’s been mostly chill so far on the Challenge, but in her season, she: showed up with a boyfriend of six(?) years, promptly fell for the biggest douchebag in the house, eventually hooked up with him and broke up with her long-term boyfriend (not Jonna-fast, but fast enough), revealed that she wasn’t afraid of being hit by Adam because she’d been hit by a man before (did not elaborate on that), cried when he was sent home for being a destructive asshole, hooked up with Teacup to console her after the Dustin drama, hired a private investigator to find her birth father (who she never met since he was in prison while she was growing up), was devastated to find out he had died, found out she had a few half siblings, and met her half-sister so they could start forming a relationship. GOD I MISS THAT SEASON. All of that was just ONE person’s drama! Sorry about that tangent, I digress.
Nany runs out of the house, and Dustin yells at everyone else to go away and tries to comfort her, as she tells us that she hasn’t had a man disrespect her like that in a long time. Sadly, he doesn’t get very far, and before long Nany’s back in the house, and smashing a cup (I think?) when Knight hovers around being a jackass. Jasmine says she knows what it’s like for Nany being on her first Challenge.
“I know what it’s like to break some shit. But now I’m totally chill, which is infinitely more terrifying.”
Dustin finally manages to get Nany away from everyone and into a bed so she can get some rest. She’s still pretty upset, though.
SIDEBAR #2: One thing I’ve always liked about Dustin, and it’s easy for this to get lost in the shuffle because of all the kerfuffle over the gay porn and his sexuality, is that he really gives off a strong sense of respect for women. And not in a condescending, “let me help you, little girl” kind of way, but in an “I hate that there are men out there who feel the need to make women feel like shit, and I wish I could stop it, but for now I guess I’ll just try to make you feel better and hopefully that will remind you that not all men are like that” kind of way. I think the angriest he’s ever been was when Adam was on his destructive tear through their suite, and Dustin was trying to keep Nany away from it despite her insistance that she wasn’t scared. I don’t know. It’s just that respecting women (or each other in general) is so rare on these shows that it stuck out to me.
