The Challenge Recap: Ranting and Raging

… Seriously, that person just spoke those words on my television.  I just can’t even…

Dustin and Trishelle are quietly bickering, to the point that Teej notices through his haze and points it out.  Back at the house, Trishelle is talking to Chet and Sarah about Dustin.  Chet calls Dustin weird.  “There’s Dustin,” Sarah says.  “Oops,” thinks everyone.  They try to sit Dustin down, but he continues to blame Trishelle for Alton and Nany going home.  Dustin claims he’s going home instead of trying to work with Trishelle.  There’s that winning spirit!

Next week:  Playing Bumper Challengers while they wear comically oversize tire-looking things!  Robb and Marie continue to angle for a chance to become veterans by picking fights with Zach, Sam, Derek, and possibly other people!

Don’t you love how most of the fight was just rehashed from various previews?  And I still don’t know what the fuck it was about aside from a bunch of whiny bitches with inflated egos desperate for attention.  Actually, that’s probably all it was about.  I just seriously can’t stand Frank AT ALL.  No bullshit, I would take Wes back if it got rid of Frank.  At least Wes embraces his ridiculousness.  What did you think of the big brawl?  What about the Vegas team’s fighting?  I’m not alone in wishing Trishelle went home instead, am I?

Frank, Jonnay, and Trishelle should HAVE to go in for being the biggest pussies. I need/want the money but I am willing to do nothing to get it. Self entitled ASSHOLES.

If Trishelle’s strategy at poker is the same she is applying here – it is foolproof. I will do nothing and eventually I will win.

If I would have had to drink everytime Frank contradicted himself this episode I would be in the ICU.

Really thought Dustin was classier than what he showed this episode. He cracks me up when he attempts to go into “gangsta mode” as with his accent and his voice raising 2 octaves it is more entertaning vs thug.

    One slight adjustment:

“As if anyone on any of these shows has ever gotten over anything in the history of EVERDOM!”

    Ahhhh that’s better.

Hey wasn’t Trashelle and that skank Katie in Hustler. Respect INDEED!

VA, has a point and I am in agreement.

Who would take WES over FRANK?

    I would.

I would take Wes over Frank too!!! I LOATE Frank. I actually watched RWSD and hated him and Zach since then. Also wish Trashelle had gone home too. Ehhhh. Even though it is bitchy, I hope Dustin does leave just to so she has to go too.

Seriously, considerthis, I would love for there to be a twist ARENA where the non-volunteers have to go in, or something. Although Trishelle and Jonna would have to go in no matter what at this point. And as I’ve said before, none of these people will get any sympathy from me for “needing” the money. Agreed that I expected more from Dustin, and his attempt to be gangsta were laughable. He also came across pretty whiny about being stuck with Trishelle. He lost some points, but I still like him for the most part.

Gypsy, I can’t BELIEVE I missed a chance to use EVERDOM. I am ashamed. Clearly I’m not fully back in the recapping groove yet. Thanks for adding it!

And yeah, I didn’t think anyone would make me almost miss Wes, but I just CANNOT deal with Frank. I’m seriously dreading recapping next week’s episode already.

Since Frank apparently sees a lot of himself in Marie, it should make sense to him that she’s an idiot a lot of the time.

Ugh, I could never stomach a decision between Wes and Frank.

I’m not QUITE on the Dustin train. I don’t hate him, but he just has a weird trait that I can’t put my finger on that makes me uncomfortable. It’s such a shame, too, because he’s totally my type physically.

I thought Dustin completely over-reacted at the end. I get that you’re pissed, but seriously, let it go. Are you gonna let Trashelle take away your chance at money?
I thought it was hilarious that Brooklyn took them into that room to council them and let them speak freely, in a safe place. It just makes me laugh that they’re so drama free.
Frank. There are no words. And Trashelle is earning her way to Frank-dom. Just go home. No one wants to see your face anymore. I get that your team was a dick to you, but to be fair, you didn’t explain why you weren’t going down, you just swam there, silently. (Or maybe I’m wrong)
I’m not sure if I’d take Wes back, but I think I’m leaning that way. Wes knew better than to get physical with a situation. Frank hasn’t seemed to figure that out.

Wes is at least funny, in that seeing how he tries to talk to people makes you just laugh at him. Frank makes you want to throw your TV out the window. To take it to another level, I don’t believe Wes is a bad person. I think he knows his place on these challenges and plays it. Frank, I feel, is just a bad person. That makes him far worse in my eyes.

Dustin, brother, I love you, but come on dude. Nut up and get over it. Focus your anger on making damn sure Frank does not win. Frank cannot win this challenge! As much as I dislike Sara and Brooklyn, I will be happy if they win as long as Frank and San Diego don’t. Hell even if it was just Zach and one of the girls I can take it. If Frank wins I will be pissed.

“Do you know who the fuck I am?” IS a great line in a fight……..if you are an associate of the Gambino crime family and it gives your opponent just enough realization that you are really not a guy to fuck with. If your a loudmouthed gay guy from the Real World than it is an unbeleivably stupid thing to say in a fight. As soon as Frank said that I wish TJ Lavin had immediately stepped in, stopped everything cold, and said “Ok Frank, explain exactly who you are. What is it about you that makes it so shocking that anyone would mess with you? What is it that Dustin must not know? Nobody is moving until we get a coherent explanation for why you thought it was appropriate to pose that question.”

@VA – I’m only a paragraph in but I, too felt like Christmas wasn’t stuffed down our throats so early this year. I’ve been wondering if this is just me, a coincidence, or if it was done on purpose.

VA – I missed you and STFUF – awesome!!!

I am so confused. This is the second time Frank has brought up Dustin’s past AND made fun of it, but isn’t Frank gay? Or bisexual? Either way, he’s sucked a dick, so who is he to judge Dustin????

    Nany isn’t fat!!!!

I agree with everyone, Frank is the worst this season. Bringing up Nany’s herion addicted sister is a total nut punch. Frank should be ashamed.

What’s up with Alton and Sarah??? Did he even tell her by when he left the ARENA?

I HATE Frank with the best of ‘em. I will say, it honestly makes me sad for Frank that he things calling out Dustin for sleeping with men is cool. Like, you’re in one breath saying it’s not cool for Dustin to sleep with men but you are okay with yourself? Clearly not, sad little man. It’s like he’s throwing back on Dustin whatever hate he’s gotten in his life for being gay.

I also would take Wes over Frank. Sometimes I think Wes realizes that he’s being ridiculous and plays it up. Frank seems straight up delusional, and I would agree, he just seems like a bad person. As for Marie, I actually really liked her during her season (I know I was in the minority there), but this Challenge is making me understand why everyone else hated her. I actually thought Frank’s heroin jab was stupid. “Hey tell your sister to keep doing drugs” is neither clever nor funny, just pointing out a fact. I felt bad for Nany that it upset her so much. But seriously, that girl is just a barrel of issues!

I think Dustin has alot of issues too, he just has better coping skills for the most part. I have always found it bizarre how he feels BETRAYED FOREVER by people he barely knows doing marginally offensive things. This happened on his season with the whole game while he was asleep thing. I get that what Trishelle did was effed up, and he is pissed about it. But he acts like she had this huge obligation to him that she betrayed, and that’s the part that’s so weird. Like, he and Trishelle are not close enough for him to treat her like she seduced his father into giving her Dustin’s inheritance or something, or that this act on her part will have some kind of long-term effect on his life. That’s the thing that I’ve always thought was super freaking weird about him.

This episode definitely reminded me why I wasn’t a huge Dustin fan on his original season. Although he does seem like a stand up guy for the most part, the way he overreacts at certain things is ridiculous. I would’ve been laughing my ass off at the little ‘remember this. Have nightmares’ tirade.

Not to say that what Trishelle did was cool, but it’s sort of expected. I have to give props to Nany, she volunteered herself and even the best of them don’t always have the guts to do that. She is a hot mess though. And during the fight, when she just kept laughing maniacally, I have to admit she was freaking me out a bit hahaha.

I thought Marie and Robb were the only saving grace on their season, particularly Marie. I didn’t actually find her that obnoxious tonight. I mean sure, it was embarrassing for Robb to have her push someone on his behalf, but she was drunk and trying to be a good girlfriend. It’s probably the nicest thing we’ve seen her do for him. She had good intentions I think. We’ve all been drunk and done stupid things/overreacted.

    Frank really is so terrible.

If any of these people were actually smart they would have figured out the best strategy for the so-called “endurance” challenge. Gather all the balls on your side and just chill, then when there’s like 10 seconds left just send all of them flying to your opponents side.

I think that Alton gave about 95% in the Arena. It could have been editing tricks, but there were several times where he was just standing there taking a breather. I’m not saying I’d have the stamina do do any of those challenges, but he’s supposed to be this big strong athletic dude. I think he just wanted to go home. He’d said he wanted to go home several times. He didn’t want to be super obvious about it, but I think he did, in the end, throw the challenge. GRANTED, it was incredibly close in the last 2 heats, but he seemed to give up pretty easily…IMO.

I’d take Wes, or hell, even JohnnyBackpack over Stank any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I can’t hate on Dustin for losing his mind. If I were on a game show with someone I hated as much as he hates Trishelle, I’d rather lose than help a douchebag like her win.

There were definitely some awkward “history of everdom” moments at the end of the episode with Dustin. He just takes some things wayyyyyyy tooo seriously, just like he did on his RW season. however, I do completely agree with him that Trishelle not going into the arena was bullshit. It was entirely her fault that the team lost. She never even tried to go under the water! Just floated on top and complained that she “swallowed a bunch of water”. As if Trishelle doesn’t have tons of experience swallowing :p She should have been able to gulp that down and keep right on going!

I agree with all the Frank vitriol, he’s an ass. I was so disappointed that Vegas lost the elimination. I like Robb and Marie, but I feel like Vegas (as a 4 person team) had the best shot of beating the San Diego team in the final. I cannot handle Frank and Zach winning this thing, it will only add to their obnoxiousness.

OHMYGAH, Jersey, that is flipping awesome. I feel like adding the cute animals was an after thought.

Obviously, every one here is entitled to their own opinion, but I don’t understand the Marie like. She isn’t on the level of the douche brigade/Bananas/Wes, but she sucks. She is a sloppy drunk (I know, I know, that’s the basis of the RW) and she treated Robb like shit. And I am soooooooooooo confused about her relationship w/ Robb. At the RW reunion, those 2 hated each other. Was the Challenge filmed before said reunion?

Also, Marie inadvertently injured Sam. Don’t mess with my She -man!!!!

So Wes FTW and Frank gets the ‘NUT PUNCH” (Amazeballs Plock!)

I think Dustin has a PTSD. I remember him saying his mother has serious mental issues and she wass very paranoid and overly religious on top of the gay porn stuff…wikipedia the symptoms if you are into it. It kind of explains a lot of his behaviour.
