Team Christina is up next and she has chosen De’Borah and Nelly’s Echo. De’Borah was shunned by her church for being different and Nelly was a refugee from Nigeria. De’Borah kind of looks like a can of Mello Yellow. That is some bright yellow and green. She also doesn’t know popular music because she mainly sings in church. During the battle, I think De’Borah does better. Adam gets a little choked up because he is so proud of how De’Borah has evolved and that they could be even a small part of that. Christina picks De’Borah and nobody ends up stealing Nelly, or Nelly’s, or whatever the hell his first name is.
We’re back to team Blake and this time we have Gracia Harrison (Yodels) up against 2 Steel Girls (Mother/Daughter duo). They are singing the Dixie Chicks ‘Sin Wagon’. During the rehearsals, Gracia is nervous about going up against a duo. Mother and Daughter are also having a rough time meshing together for the song. When it’s time for the battle, Gracia shows up looking like she is ready for the prom. The daughter in 2 Steel Girls looks pissed and I believe that her hair is crimped. Enough said. During the performance, it seems like the duo is doing some bad over-acting. The mom’s voice is really low and the daughter seems way too serious. Christina enjoyed the performance, but like Gracia’s playfulness better. Cee-lo would pick 2 Steel Girls because he’s always had a mother/daughter fantasy. Adam says it was so much fun and Blake can’t go wrong. Blake picks Gracia and nobody steals the duo. Adam is pissed because he wanted to steal Gracia.
Our final battle is for team Cee-lo. He has paired Amanda Brown (Sang ‘Valerie’ and got Cee-lo by default) and Trevin Hunte (Large black man with a tiny hat). They are singing Mariah Carey’s ‘Vision of Love’. Trevin needs to really find some confidence, because his nerves are really showing. Cee-lo is second guessing his decision to pair them together. At the battle, Trevin is rocking an awesome red pleather jacket and yet another tiny hat. Their performance is awesome. Adam is standing on his seat cheering. He doesn’t care who Cee-lo picks, he will take the other. Blake can’t find one negative thing about the performance. Cee-lo ends up going with Trevin and it’s a fight to the death for Amanda. She is moved by his hotness and his heartfelt begging, so she goes with Adam!
Well, that’s it for night one of the battle rounds! I hope you all enjoyed and will get night 2 up as soon as possible.
If you like it, spread it!:

Terry looks like one of the Bay City Rollers…and yeah, the old person alarm is now going off full blast!
I thought the same thing about Terry…used to have their poster on my wall right next to Bobby Sherman.
Ah, sweet validation…that I am officially middle-aged!! Ah, who cares…to my kids anyone over 25 is ancient.
Will someone please buy Trevin a bigger hat?
Reminds me of Tommy Boy – “Fat guy in a little hat”.
I can’t believe Cee-lo-asaurus chose Diego. He screwed up the lyrics several times!
Speaking of hats, I’d wear Adam’s ass for a hat.
I gave up watching after Cee-lo picked Diego over JR and then NONE of the judges turned around for JR. WTF? Blake’s going to scoop up mediocre Colin and nobody turns for JR who was clearly superior to both Deigo AND Colin? Annoying.
Ceelo’s strategy seems to be the same to me as it was last year — stack his decks with obvious pretty faces in the hopes that hormone-fueled fanatacism will bring power votes for his team members. (See the sheer the porn queen and hairband boy from last season). That just annoys me. His whole “I can offer Diego more” schtick was bs. This is a competition, not a charity. If you’re going on talent not looks (silly me), JR had a much better chance of winning, plus he already has a youtube fanbase to build from.
Ok, enough of the rant…honestly I don’t care that much, except that it annoyed me and made me not really want to watch anymore of the battle rounds.
I think this is on the second battle round show, can’t remember…but the girl with the two tone hair during the battle where they sang “Lights” where they talked about how unique her voice was…she sounded just like Ellie Goulding who is the actual artist who sings that song…so how is that unique?
