Alright, people, get ready for more battle rounds! I feel a little strange – Christina has the girls covered up, which I believe is a sign of the apocalypse. Carson is doing his happy dance because he is actually allowed on stage so he can interact with the coaches. Of course he uses this platform to again let us know the whole premise of the show. Now that we’ve caught up, it’s on to our first battle!
Can’t we just get rid of the people we don’t care about?
Team Cee-lo is up first and he has paired Cody Belew and Domo. Please God let Cody win. Domo irritated the hell out of me during her blind audition. To refresh, Cody is the rancher that let loose a stream of profanity after Cee-lo picked him during the final blind audition. Domo is the arrogant woman that is a ‘hip hop’ dancer (translation – stripper) and thinks she is all that and a bag of chips. She finished up her blind audition by calling out to the audience ‘When I say Do, you say Mo’. I cringe at the memory. Cee-lo has picked the song ‘Telephone’. Domo is excited because she knows the song inside and out. Is that the same as her claim that she sings like Mariah and Whitney? During rehearsals, Cody comments that she can’t whip that ponytail in my face. I love Cody because his personality in no way matches his appearance. Did anyone else pick up Rob Thomas’ reaction to Domo during the rehearsal? You can tell he thinks she is really full of herself.
During the battle, Cody is doing a lot of shimmying and rocking a deep v-neck. They have some ‘choreography’ that consists of bouncing around and some simulated ass-spanking. It honestly seems more like a duet than a battle. Did they not hear Carson’s explanation of the show? Blake thinks that neither of them have problem with stage presence and are both good looking. Adam and Christina are impressed with how Domo reigned in her ego. Cee-lo agrees with me that they concentrated more on choreography that singing, so he wants to go with the better singer – Cody. Adios Domo!
Christina’s team is up next. She has chosen Aquile (jaw wired shut) and Natalie Hernandez (sang Taylor Swift’s White Horse). They will be singing ‘You Give me Something’. She stresses that they need to make a connection on stage. I can’t really remember how old Aquile is, but Natalie is 15, so I don’t know that I would be prompting a ‘connection’. I really just want to know what the hell is with the black bandana around Christina’s head. Is she trying to join a gang or something? During the battle, they are both good, but the song is kind of ‘blah’. Even the comments are ‘blah’. Cee-lo thinks it was a great rendition, Adam thinks they both have incredible talent, Blake thinks they are great. Someone woke up Christina to make a decision and she went with Aquile.
If you like it, spread it!:

Domo didn’t throw her ponytail. No. She twice, stepped in front of Cody, bent over and flung the entire mess back end forth, blocking him from view. Annoying. I think her losing came as a shock to her. Aquile is 20 I believe. I checked to see how much of an advantage he had in years. I liked Melanie ‘s audition but agree she sounded out of breath this time when she sang and I would have gone with Caitlin. I know why Melanie’s doing the whole 50′s look hair and big boy-which find gross-I thought it was gross in the 50′s. But it’s a gimmick, like Lady Gaga. I’m afraid it’s not a very good one .She’s Latina. She’ll mature, grow up,and her act with the outfit will look like she’s entertaining kiddie porn. Out goes the novelty and here comes the sleaze. Note to Melanie-Get a new Gimmick quick.
Why are there no mentions of Billie Joe in any recap?!
