This Week in YouTube

Hey Gasmii! This week’s theme is, “I got slammed at work on the same week I had to recap the “RuPaul’s Drag Race premiere and these are the videos I stumbled across this week.” I like them…but they’re “cute animal” heavy. At least they’re all safe for work and children.

First up, one of the best “children’s entertainment/rock song” mashups since A Charlie Brown Christmas met “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.” But when the Muppets meet the Beastie Boys, it’s pretty magic, too.

Seriously, I just wish they could have done the whole song.

Can you imitate a chicken? Of course you can. We all can. Even this goat can.

By the way, it’s just over a minute long so stick with it. I was laughing hysterically by the end. Nothing interesting happens, it just reaches critical mass of funny, so if you didn’t watch the whole thing…do it. Now.

This next clip is from another BBC nature program because I wasn’t kidding, they’re the best. Here a squirrel meets a cheetah.

Things I learned from that clip? Cheetah’s are cross-eyed, squirrels live in Africa (who knew?) and they’re drama queens.

Okay, this next clip was featured on The Daily Show.

And even Jon Stewart was cooing and mewing at it by the end. That’s how adorable sleepy kitties are.

Lest you think I don’t like dogs, here is a long-haired Dachshund, quite possibly the only dog that can give a Beagle a run for its money as “cutest dog, ever,” squaring off against a toy penguin.

Awwwww….

So that’s it for this week. My apologies for being so light but I hope the sheer adorableness of these videos makes up for it. And Happy Super Bowl Sunday, y’all!
