This Week in YouTube

Watercooler

Hello again, Gasmii! And welcome back to This Week in YouTube, edumacation edition!

First up, let’s go back to Bible study and learn how all the little babies wash their original sins away with Disco Duck.

Admit it. You thought I was making this shit up, right?

Next, let’s study the cosmos with Interplanet Janet from Schoolhouse Rock.

Drugs were AWESOME in the 70s.

Now that schools are cutting back on arts education, YouTube has stepped their efforts to bring culture to the masses with Art Thoughtz by Hennessy Youngman. This week he teaches us all about Damien Hirst. (NSFW for language. Seriously, NSFW for language.)

The British do have a word for this.

Also, it was a big election night for progressive politics. Marriage equality initiatives passed in three states, Tammy Baldwin, an openly gay woman, beat Tommy Thompson, a relatively popular ex-governor, to become the junior senator from Wisconsin. But probably most progressive of all, Washington and Colorado passed initiatives decriminalizing marijuana. And Bert and Ernie made a video about it.

By the way, Nate Silver has something to say about this election:

Ain’t nothin’ but a nerd thing, yo.

Finally, a very determined cat decides once and for all to prove that gravity does in fact exist.

FAIL!

That’s it for another week. Let me know what you think!
