Saturday, June 9

Donald Duck debuted in The Wise Little Hen on this date in 1934.

Stanley Cup Final (NBC 8pm) Game 5. From Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

If only Charlie Sheen could have waited for one more game before getting locked out on a smoke break.

Stephen Hawking’s Grand Design (The Discovery Channel 8pm) Premiere: Professor Stephen Hawking tackles the question: Is there a purpose to our existence.

Stephen Hawking makes my brain explode — and that’s a compliment.

Spike Guy’s Choice 2012 (Spike TV 9pm) The biggest names in entertainment and sports come together to celebrate men.

And by men they mean overgrown boy children with all the rights and privileges of adulthood but few of the responsibilities.

Dog the Bounty Hunter (A&E 10pm) Dog, his posse and the show’s production crew share their thoughts on the series; includes previously unseen footage.

The pressing question that I want answered is: Exactly how much time and money is spent on his coiffure every month?

Sunday, June 10

On this date in 1935, Alcoholics Anonymous was founded by Dr. Robert Smith and Bob Wilson, ushering in the era of 12-step programs and introducing the world to the drivel that is “recovery speak.”

Mob Wives Chicago (VH1 8pm) Premiere: Nora returns to Chicago to investigate the mysterious circumstances about the burial of her father; Renee struggles with trust issues.

Which of the Chicago ladies will step up and become the next Big Ang?

True Blood (HBO 9pm) Premiere: Sookie and Lafayette clean up a mess; Bill and Eric receive a visit from the Vampire Authority; Alcide’s werewolf pack goes after Sam; Jessica enjoys her freedom; Jason is visited by Steve Newlin; Alcide warns Sookie.

Things have gotten even more bonkers than usual in Bon Temps. Catch up on last season here before diving back in to the insanity!

Mad Men (AMC 10pm) Finale: There are opportunities for everyone; Pete meets a stranger on a train.

Renewal Status: It has been renewed for season six, but I don’t know how long we’re going to have to wait for it.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey (Bravo 10pm) Caroline finds out what Teresa really thinks of her; Melissa debuts her new song with a party; Joe reaches out to his sister one last time.

Gimme a T! Gimme an E! Gimme a R! Gimme an E! Gimme a S! Gimme an A! What does it spell? DRAMA!!!!!

Our America with Lisa Ling (OWN 10pm) Premiere: Episode — Sparkle Babies: Little girls as beauty queens.

That’s “Shparkle baybeee!” thankyouverymuch.

Bridezillas (WE 10pm) Premiere: Marlene and her sister shop for dresses; a Southern belle controls the dietary habits of her bridesmaids.

What’s really depressing is that there are enough crazy bitches for this show to have eight seasons under its belt already.

About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

Have fun in SD and think of me as you fly by the Holiday Inn & peek into the windows. I’m so jealous.

I’ll be watching the pageant fiasco if I can sneak away from our house guests for a bit.
