He thinks her leek reduction is a little sour and also it would be better served on The Situation’s 6 pack.
Lorena has made a Potato and Bacon Soup with corn and bacon sofrito. Krista thinks the bacon got lost a little, but Sugar Ray wanted to put his face in the bowl.

It’s worse than Sophie’s Choice. I could easily choose which one of my kids deserves to live. NEITHER ONE OF THEM. (I’m kidding. I was not permitted to reproduce.)
Willing Chris to kick ass
Fighting for the win is Lorena vs Chris. Hopefully Chris will kill it. Chris feels pretty good about this match up. His food can beat a MexiMelt any day of the week. Curtis unveils the main ingredient and, in honor of Sugar Ray Leonard.. it’s SUGAR.
Chris realizes he needs to rethink his strategy. But decides he’s going to so classic and simple (which it isn’t, but ok) with Zabaione over fruit. Zabaione is an Italian Dessert made with egg yolks, sugaa sweet wine. It is a very light custard which has been whipped to incorporate a large amount of air. It is cooked but must be whisked constantly so that the eggs don’t start to scramble.

It’s a pain in the butt, I can attest. Chris is whisking, whisking, whisking like a maniac- killing his arm in the process
Lorena decides to make a flourless chocolate cake… but knows she has to make something else too in case her cakes don’t cook. So she also makes dulche de leche sauce over caramelized walnuts and pineapple. As bad luck would have it, Lorena’s cakes cook in time so she decides to serve everything.
Chris vs Lorena
The critics think Chris’s dish was smooth, rich and delicious. As for Lorena’s dish, they wish the cake and pineapple had been incorporated together. But Jane notes that the pinapple & walnuts could have stood on its own.
The critics vote and they choose: LORENA. ugh. Clearly they don’t know how annoying she is.

Patricia says that she respects Lorena more after this challenge, she is a ballsy, fierce fighter.

After Lorena won her round, I switched channels. Anyone other than SHE going home is a travesty. I think that Super Creep Oseland is trying to throw the competition to her.
Ugg- I was so disappointed with the outcome. I wanted Lorena to get the boot. The more I see her, the more I dislike her. Her “positive”attitude is so aggressively negative and those Taco Bell commercials during the show don’t help to make her likeable.
MisRed, I love the chef side notes! And the recaps are entertaining, as always.
I was so mad when it came down to Patricia and Takashi because I didn’t want either to go home. I, too, wanted Lorena to get the boot. I want a do-over.
I wonder what the other chefs think about Lorena hawking for Taco Bell. She destroyed her credibility before the competition ever started in my way of thinking. I want her to get a tummy ache from eating too much cilantro so they can bring Takashi back.
And I thought the dishes that they made looked and sounded yummy (Pat and Takashi, that is).
I also hated that Lorena got to stay. She is so incredibly fake, with all her exaggerated mannerism and attempts at appearing funny and cute. She is a total attention whore with even bigger stealth douchiness that Art….she drives me up the wall.
I’m sad that Takashi left, but I’m hoping that Patty will have another chance to take Lorena down.
Guys – I agree with all of you who aren’t fans of Lorena!!! She’s just too in your face with all her happiness and exhuberance. It just comes off as incredibly phony. Not only did she stay, she won. I wanted her to get the boot as well and hated to see Takashi go. He seems like a sweet and genuine guy, as well as an excellent chef. I’m rooting for Patricia. PLEASE don’t let Lorena win it all!
I cannot STAND Lorena – and was hoping that I missed something in the last 3 minutes – and they pulled a Project Runway and everyone stayed. I don’t know what happened after Lorena’s hand was raised (and she beat Chris), because Hubby – who doesn’t even really LIKE this show, but watches it with me, was so pissed that she beat Chris that he shut off the tv and threw our remote across the room.
Seriously, if you can make my Hubby dislike you that much (and yes, the Taco Bell commercials are NOT helping you, Lorena), then you’ve got talent. We were hoping for a Patrica, Chris, Takashi final 3, Kerry isn’t my favorite, but I can deal with him.

I also wanted Lorena to go home. Takashi’s food looks amazing and he’s such a classy guy. At least he’s already won a ton of money (20K) for his charity.
I guess I’m rooting for Patricia now. Takashi was my favorite and my pick to win. I love Japanese people they’re just so wonderfully weird. I was hoping Lorena or Kerry would go home. Lorena for obvious reasons. And there’s just something about Kerry that bugs me. I’m not sure what it is.

And like basically everyone here, I can’t stand Lorena. I can’t understand how she won a bacon challenge if they couldn’t taste the bacon in her dish. But hey, I never understood (and propably never will) the rules of elimination in food shows.
Also, I found Chris very nice now that Art is gone, no one left to boss around ^^. So I guess now that Takashi is gone, I’m rooting for Chris or Patricia. Even Kerry. But please, not Lorena, she scares the shit out of me.

It’s bad enough that my beloved pocket monster had to go home, but the fact that Kerry and fucking loudmouth Lorena were the ones to send him there is just too much bear.
I freaking don’t like Kerry. I agree with @sagittariuskim that there is just something about him that is a turn off, but it’s not really possible to articulate what it is.

I wonder if Taco Bell is paying Bravo to keep her on, because I fail to see how a chowder with a sprinkle of bacon can beat a balanced and clean dish with a big ass hunk of perfectly cooked bacon. When bacon is supposed to be the star.
And I know Curtis knows how annoying she is! He sat with her on a panel for that dumb restaurant show and had to listen to her screech about passion day in and day out. He knows!
I am so mad at this whole thing right now.
Chris needs to win the whole shebang and that’s all I have to say on the matter.
And MisRed, I love that you caught Craig from TC:JD in the audience. Just the sight of him makes me burst into laughter. If I were him, I’d never show up to any Top Chef anything ever again. God, he was so awful. I hope he’s better now.
