Tough Love NO Recap: Bayou Bellylaughs

This comes as no surprise. She did awesome with the restaurant disaster and she was incredible as a stand up comic. George Herbert Walker comes on and tells Steve that he’s very attracted to Donna and they have definitely made a connection. He says if Steve splits them up he will find a way to be with Donna. Wow!

Steve turns to Melissa and says he doesn’t know what to think. He asks her what she’s looking for. She says she wants someone who is bigger than her. That’s what’s missing with Chris. Danielle looks as if she can relate. I’m giving this girl the side eye ’cause that’s the stupidest reason to rule out a great guy I’ve ever heard.

She knows how much Chris likes her
and she doesn’t want to hurt him.

Even Steve knows the likelihood of finding another guy who likes her that much is pretty slim. Chris comes on in video and says humiliating himself was all worth it to get to spend more time with Melissa. Steve tells her that there is no way in hell he’s sending Chris off again after how he put himself out there. He tells Melissa she has to go out with Chris again and break up with him if she doesn’t want to date him anymore. She seems more than willing to do it.

Stupid, stupid girl.

Stehanie gets called in to the hot seat.

Strike 1 for our sweet Barbie.

She tells Steve she’s either in the chair for her tantrum of threatening to go home or for her conversation with John the night before. Steve starts out by telling her if she ever pulls that kind of act again, he’ll come over and help her pack her bags.

He tells her that she did awesome on stage but she bombed with John. She explains that she tried to open up to John and tell him how she felt and he said nothing, which she interprets to mean he doesn’t feel the same. She tells Steve she knows John has a problem with trust and she wants him to know she can be trusted and won’t lie to him.

Do you think you could tell this to John?

Steph says she really wants to have a chance to tell John that. With that, Steve invites John to come in!

John is afraid she’ll either quit boot camp to be with him
or stay and make out with more random men.

She explains that she isn’t proud of what she did, but she was starved for affection and she wasn’t in a relationship. She says she didn’t expect to fall for someone in boot camp, but she did and now that she has, she’s terrified. Unfortunately John’s response is not the most promising.

You are very important to me.

John says he really wants her to finish the boot camp and she tells him she’s messed up and she really needs to. Steve wraps things up and encourages them to embrace this milestone in their relationship. Steve scolds Stephanie and warns her not to go hot and cold on him anymore.

And stop wearing your dog tag backwards.

Stephanie returns to the couch and Steve tells the girls that at this point in bootcamp they should be able to know what they are doing wrong and what they have to do to stop it. I’m not sure Melissa is ever going to get it, sadly.

And so another week of Tough Love is over. I really had fun watching this episode and there was a fantastic extra joke by Donna during the credits about blow jobs. Finally a great week where the girls learned something and put it into action. Let’s hope next week is just as good.

About

Luscious just got back from a one year backpacking trip around the world with her husband (TVgasm fill-in specialist, The Professor). She spends her days writing, knitting and sewing. She's only good at one of those hobbies, not saying which.  Her secret dream is to write romance novels and have critics say her brilliance is wasted on such a pointless genre. Also, she'd like to create a pair of pajamas for her niece where the sleeves actually work.

I had to slam my head on the coffee table when Stephanie said she didn’t expect to fall for someone on this show. Sweetie, I love you, but you came on a show hosted by a MATCHMAKER who spends the entire season of said show setting up women with potential partners! Have you not watched the other seasons?!?!?!

I adore all the girls this season. It is so easy for us to sit and (mentally) tell them what they should and shouldn’t be doing, but I know that I really don’t completely understand what they are going through. This group, I think more than any other, has really been open and vulnerable– willing to expose their failings in order to heal.

I want every one to succeed.

But I DO have a couple of faves.

BTW does anybody have inside information about lip augmentation gone wrong? I feel so sorry for lovely Steph, and hope that her lips will somehow deflate. Also, I have seen several poor women with botched lip jobs and I really hope the problem can be fixed. I worry about things like that.

I feel bad for poor Melissa. Its got to be difficult knowing that the guy is nice, but that you’re completely not interested, and having to constantly defend your disinterest to everyone you know. A guy could do everything right, like Chris, and still only give you friendly feelings. And her agreement for another date is like that girl who’s boyfriend proposes in public – she says yes to not embarrass him in front of everyone, but when they get home it may be a different story.

Not sure what Melissa is expecting, but I do know it is never going to happen for her with her attitude. Steve needs to kick her to the curb as she sucks. I thought Donna was going to fail, and look at her turn around.

Danielle, stop the yo-yo behavior. I want to like you.

Snowshoe that is why I love this show. It is positive, up-lifting and helping to those on it and those watching. God did I just type that? I need a drink. Compared to the tearing down on the housewives and other shows, this is a nice change of pace.

    Luscious, thanks for recapping.

Love your post. It’s so nice to read something positive. And the screen-shot of Donna made me laugh. Too funny!

Stephanie kinda pissed me off. She sits there with Good John and he’s all like “ummm you got something to tell me about the other night” so she tells him about her hook up which I applaud her for, but in the next breath she says “so I want a commitment from you right now…” Stephie honey, timing is everything. Is she that clueless and self centered that she feels that in one sentence she can tell him she had her tongue down some douchebag’s throat and in the next say I want a long term promise? Poor guy is still trying to digest the fact that you were acting like some coed on a Girls Gone Wild video, you are not commitment material at the moment… She really had no right to become all hurt and offended. He was right to tell her at the end to stay and finish bootcamp and work on herself. If not she will be a black hole of insecurity that no man can fill.

As stupid as it was for stephanie to ask for a commitment after that, it seemed like she was looking for a change of subject- anything to distract him! She probably could have picked a whole bunch of other topics, the weather maybe??

I thought that neither of them expressed their feelings very well vocally but while they were talking John had his hand either around her back or on her leg so I still have hope for them. It seemed very sweet. Hopefully neither of them f*cks it up.

But I love your recaps Lucious! Thanks!!
