The New Normal, NBC, Sept 11

Pollyanna: Quirky blond, check.  Little Miss Sunshine-esque kid, check.  Sassy black woman, check.  Attractive gay couple, check.  Uptight, non-pc mother, check.  Throw in Chuck Norris and a little person and we have hit every demographic humanly possible.

Flipit: Gays making babies. It’s so unnatural. We’re supposed to BUY the little fuckers. This is just gross. You guys know you’re gonna have to watch that thing come out of a vagina, right?

Foggywood: The problem lies right there in the title – this show looks ex-TREME-ly normal.  Boringly normal.  Hopefully Hank Azaria will play the housekeeper named Spartacus.

PopePhilly: There is a pretty good chance this will turn into shock and ugh.

SG: I’ll watch in case Ellen slaps Nene.

CannedGinger: The show is twisted, dirty, funny and inappropriate. I love it. Too bad Nene Leakes is stinking up the joint.

PearlBlackDragon: Some gays, a loud mouth kid, and an older bigot.  When did Modern Family get recast?

BlueCanary: Hey NBC, this looks like a great show and all, and SO original, but do you think you could cram a few more gay stereotypes or offhand racist remarks into those 38 seconds? As is, it just feels like you’re slacking.

    I love Matthew Perry and will enjoy watching him. I don’t care if it’s Chandler revisited or not. I love him. The rest of the shows reviewed here can get along just fine without me. I don’t plan to tune in to any of them.

    You can watch the first episodes of “Ben and Kate” and “The Mindy Project” online right now like they did with New Girl to see if people like them before they air. I loved The Mindy Project based on the pilot – like watching a great romantic comedy a la Bridesmaids and she is totally loveable and real. Ben and Kate I’m a little more skeptical about – it was okay but it doesn’t seem like it has lasting power.

    There was something funny happening in Matthew Perry’s mouth, like he was wearing new dentures or veneers?! It was very distracting to me!

    Well the hot blonde in Revolution is also a werewolf, so maybe all the mens have seen her eat. I have. It’s not pretty.
