Trailer Trash: TVgasm’s Fall Previews and Psychic Predictions Part 2

Emily Owens, MD, CW, Oct 16

MisRed: Ally McBeal meets Ellen DeGeneres.  Quirky doctor with no filter.  But not a fun/ inappropriate no filter.

Luscious: That awkward moment when you realize the best thing about a show full of awkward moments it that the word awkward is spelled funny.

Madelyne: It has that cutesy feel of a quirky girl that will make you get a case of Trichotillomania.

SG: It’s like Nurse Jackie for people for basic cable crowd. Plus if Hart of Dixie can get a second season then this show will reach syndication.

CannedGinger: Meryl Streep’s daughter is the lead, so I might ignore the campy Zooey D music on the trailers to give this one a shot.

BlueCanary: I love shows about confident, intelligent women who don’t sound utterly inane every time they open their mouths. Or, you know, I’d love a show like that if it actually existed.

Flipit: If doctors were really like this, people would just die at home.

Chance of Survival: 20%

About

Currently, Flipit's writing Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recaps, which you can find here. You can also find him doing a gossip segment twice a week called BS of the Day and video recaps of Project Runway All Stars, as well as spoof ReDubs of the coming soon trailers at the end of RHOBH!

Ronnie Karam has been with TVgasm since 2006 , which has given him the opportunity to make fun of hundreds of TV's most loved and hated reality whores. His plan in life was to be Julia Roberts but that plan was stolen by, well, Julia Roberts. He'll get you one day, JULIA ROBERTS!! When not making himself giggle for the gasm, Ronnie performs improv and sketch comedy at IO West in Hollywood a couple of times weekly while using the lovely California days to audition for commercial roles such as "ADORABLE MEXICAN UNCLE". Seriously. He would like to thank Jesus, Buddha and Xenu for the blessings they've bestowed. The writers here are the best around, and he's honored to be associated with them. Let’s stick with Jersey if only to prove that there are people other than Guidos there.

Duluth? Lived 40 miles outside of Duluth for most of my adult life, so I can safely say that it simply isn’t ready for prime time.

Unless the show were set in the summer — both days — the wardrobe would be heavy in parkas emblazoned with nametags so we could identify the characters.

I am related to firefighters. And it always bugs me that on these tv shows they are not: 1) all wearing mustaches; 2) driving F150s; 3) fugly.

Seriously. The ratio of hot guys in real firehouses is representative of real life. Although who wants to watch that tv show?

As Lou Grant once said to Mary Tyler Moore: “You’re perky. I hate perky.”

Thanks to all of you guys! You’ve not only given me the gift of more precious time I can spend watching trashy reality shows. And reading about them on here.

But also peace of mind. Because of your sacrifice. Now I don’t have to wonder if I should look at any of this shit.

Why don’t they bring back The Riches? Or Dirt? That’s what people want to see.

My dog cock blocks me from the hot fireman. Always wanders up to the old, fat and/or ugly ones. WTF dog?

@kthxbai – those are two of my favorites! I think they were killed off by the writer’s strike and the over-zealous writers who turned the last seasons into hot messes…but overall, killer shows!

SG – did you mean Zero Effect? Because if you did, I think we might be the only two people who saw that movie and remember it fondly. I know I do, but that’s because Bill Pullman is an underappreciated genius and he berates and humiliates Ben Stiller for two hours. SCORE!

And that Elementary scene was lifted straight from Zero Effect, which makes me hopeful and disappointed because they probably thought no one saw that movie.

But Elementary was also given a show that is very popular but shall remain nameless as its lead-in, so it should at least start out well, and despite its lead-in, it’s the only one I’m looking forward to.

Show = slot, because 7:00 AM is no time to be posting.

And I’m glad someone appreciates the nightmare inducing creepiness of Pink Martini’s cover of “Que Sera, Sera” as much as I do. Sadly, that person is Ryan Murphy.
