True Blood Recap: Forget-Me-Not

This was actually an AWESOME episode in my opinion – the first in awhile. Although I still don’t really get what went on with Lafayette and Jesus and the demon head, his storyline has now merged with Terry’s, which means Terry’s storyline just got 4857373x more hilarious. It looks like Patrick is going to die soon, which will put down gently this terrible guest and spot and storyline. (If they kill Terry instead, it would be heartwrenching, but I would be FURIOUS. I bet Arlene’s going to kill Patrick, for Terry.) I am curious about this new vamp who’s after Sookie, and what Claudine was doing treating him like a pet. I’m also curious about who Hoyt runs in to, although I could do without the rest of the hicks; their lines are just a little too trite. Also, what the hell is hurting Luna? Are we supposed to know and I missed something? Pam and Tara were sweet as always.

I am thrilled to see what will happen when the Tru Blood factories go down. My bet is that the plan will be foiled by a combo of peacelovers and fangbangers who put together a giant blood donation to keep the mainstreaming vamps alive. The wolf storyline I still don’t care about, other than that it gave a good sex scene. Eric as the moral one and Bill as evil is cool; kind of a throwback to when Eric turned Pam and Bill was nomming on the prostitutes. I wonder if Bill’s really bad or if it’s a fake-out.

By the way, the title of this episode was Somebody That I Used to Know, which I continue to believe in an Elliot Smith reference despite all evidence to the contrary.

So, tell me what you think! MWAAHHH love mcweanis

About

first thing's first: the origin of "mcweanis."

It is not because I have a giant weanis (look it up) although it is usually unusually bulbous and crusty.

it is in fact because as a child i was dubbed Weanie (it rhymes with my first name, because i'm awesomely named)  by my older sister Drunk, which my friends co-opted and which eventually evolved into weanis and finally mcweanis or MC weanis depending on how gangster i am at the time.

i am a huge nerd of all kinds, especially tv, books, and school. i'll be going to harvard law school in the fall cause i'm so SCHMANCY! i plan to put my excellent time management skills to work in balancing my courseload and my must-watch-tv-load.

It was a reference to Elliot Smith because that’s the song they played over the ending credits….I was so confused when that Gotye song came out because “Somebody I Used to Know” is my favorite Elliot Smith song and people kept asking me if I had heard the Gotye version and I was like what, no that’s an Elliot Smith song who the heck are you talking about?? Lol I also never listen to the radio anymore so I was a little behind.
Nice recap, I’m curious when will Tara, Sookie and Lafayette finally meet again and will Tara take any revenge or will they forgive each other?? Yet another storyline from the TB writers that just kind of developed and then died lol

So I can answer some of your questions, Yayyy for HBO GO and my obsession with Twitter!

Luna, like Tommy, is a Skinnwalker, if you remember a Shifter becomes a Skinnwalker by killing a relative. Tommy killed his and Sam’s parents, Luna’s mother died during childbirth. Nevertheless, Shifting into someone else is very painful and very dangerous, you vomit a lot and run a high fever. Luna turned into Sam because Sam told her to sit tight and look pretty. He was in Luna’s head and when she got angry in the bathroom it’s harder to control a Shift so Luna Shifted into Sam. Also, Shifters don’t heal fast so this is affecting Luna’s injuries as well. I’d be surprised if they killed her because they might as well have done it when they shot her in the first place.

I don’t have any answers as far as Don Bartlo goes although I think he was preventing Jesus from being a spirit and being able to talk to Lafayette so that Lafayette would go to Don Bartlo and have his Brujo powers back. I’m glad some plots have finally merged!

I was really hoping the vampire that killed Sookie’s parents would be Bill! It would just be so ironic and so tragic!

The werewolf storyline is about to pick up because Alcide’s father is going to show up! Alcide is going to have to take the pack back from Russell, I mean JD lol! So that’s how those plots will come together.

I don’t think Hoyt’s mama intended to have the hate group kill all Supes. She likes Sam, although she come to think of it she probably doesn’t know Sam is a Shifter.

I’m curious what will happen with Bill going all Sanguinista because in the previews Eric all sensitive and morally asks what will happen to Sookie and then it cut to a scene of Bill and Sookie getting it on, Bill is a tool!

As far as the title of the episode and the music, the Goyte song was originally intended but by the time the episode was going to air the song was super overplayed but they had a back up and that was to use the Elliot Smith song, which worked just a nicely.

And finally to sum up this super long post it should be noted Stephen Moyer made his directorial debut in this episode and he did a fantastic job! Thanks for the recap, though a little Alcide would have be appreciated but I can understand others not wanting to get in trouble at work. I read your recaps on my phone so I avoid that problem ;-P

In the books, there was a werewolf turned vampire, and he was rejected by both groups and killed himself. Weres rejected him because he was no longer able to shift and vamps rejected him because he was originally a were. Kinda sad. Just made me think of that with the comment about Sam and his brother.

And here I figured they had Luna shift into Sam because Sam Trammell is a natural mimic and really funny when he plays other actors playing him. I love him as Tommy as Sam, too.

McWeanis, where’s muh picture of ALCIDE?!?!?! :) Seriously, that man tossing her on the bed and going at it was HOT!!! Thank you, DVR! And whoever got you in trouble for good nudity is wrong and needs to be taken to Pam’s dungeon! :)

This was a really good episode – I loved Russell flirting during the meeting and Salome’s annoyance. I loved Lafayette telling off bitches, and I love Pam and her “mothering” skills.
