The little wisecracker will play a government agent on the team investigating the crisis surrounding Jack Bauer and crew. And though the politically-loud Janeane may have a clash or two with 24's producers, who are perceived to be among the most conservative in Hollywood, she'll fit right in alongside fellow plain Jane alt-comic Mary Lynn Rajskub, with whom she is sometimes confused-- and by whom she was replaced on The Larry Sanders Show back in the Nineties.
The big difference between the two? You'd never see a picture of Janeane getting a slobbering mouthkiss from Rush Limbaugh, as did Mary Lynn in a real-life episode she's still explaining away.
Also joining 24 this time around is actress and lesbian activist Cherry Jones as the President of the United States.
After a couple of delays related to major changes to the story line changes, 24 is set to go back into production on September 10th.

I haven't been around for a while, but hey, thanks for reminding me why I think you're a useless piece of crap, TB.
Describing a woman who isn't a size zero as a "butterball"? Check.
Bringing up looks (and I personally think she's quite good looking) and not once mentioning talent or how she would be a good fit for the show? Check.
You do get a point in your favour though for recognizing she has brains instead of completely raking her over the coals like you tend to do with Rosie O'Donnell.

A jab back. Fair's fair. I even appreciate how your comment makes me look to people who don't read the forums. That's cool.
The only lie that bothers me is the "witty commentary", unless you're not talking about the newsgasm posts themselves.
