Alec Baldwin's greatest seconds on 30 Rock

NBC puts together a clipfest of Alec Baldwin's funniest moments on 30 Rock. YouTube spreads it across the universe. NBC's iffy comedy gets some buzz and new viewers. So what does Jeff Zucker do in his first day on the job as NBC Universal chief executive?

He attacked YouTube. Consider that an omen.

Anyway, Kim Basinger may not think he's such a laff riot and he may now look like a cleaner version of "The Fat Baldwin," but in the 30 Rock clips, Alec shows why Tina Fey is such a lucky gal and why her and Lorne Michaels' show has lasted this long.

We still say they oughta pair up Baldwin with Jack McBrayer (Kenneth The Page) and do a remake of Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.. Now that would be funny.

I could watch that clip over and over again.

Baldwin is not funny and I don't understand why everyone thinks he is. The show stinks. The jokes are tired. Bleaaaah.

Once Alec Baldwin was ok as a leading man, but he is setting himself up to be one of the great character actors of his generation, equally adept at drama ("The Departed", "The Cooler") and comedy (SNL, "30 Rock").

30 Rock is a quirky show, which is an acquired taste, but I think it is brilliant. It's more screwball than "The Office", but just as funny. If it is given a chance to catch on it will be around for a while.

I'm always surprised to see how funny Baldwin can be on TV but what an immense ahole he is in real life. I guess that makes him a good comedic actor.
