Will NBC save Tina Fey?

Tina Fey is using 30 Rock's six-week hiatus to drum up some heat for the show that actual airings could not. The sketchwriter-turned-sitcom-creator-and-star says she's gotten a big signal NBC will renew the struggler for a second season.

"I literally just got off the phone with (NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly) and still tells me he will do everything in his power (to keep the show on the air) and feels strongly about it. We really are lucky to be one of the handful of shows he feels personally responsible for-- us and Friday Night Lights."

30 Rock had a wobbly start, but thanks to costars Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan and Jack McBrayer, ironed out its sketch-show kinks, and unlike Aaron Sorkin's flailing Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, began to win praise and laughs. But before it was shelved for the surprisingly mild Andy Richter vehicle, Andy Barker, P.I., 30 was averaging a miniscule 2.7 rating/6 share Thursdays at 9:30, getting killed by Grey's Anatomy on ABC, CSI on CBS and Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? on Fox.

So there's one more hoop before the next show order: When 30 Rock returns, it will be moved up a half hour to Thursdays at 9 pm. That's Scrubs' slot.

So what'll happen to Scrubs?

(Tina also gives a clue to the problem with Saturday Night Live in the B&C interview when she says, ""I miss the people and the camaraderie." Cameraderie? Historically, didn't good SNL thrive on cutthroat competition? Maybe that explains this weekend's 'Gold' sketch).
