CBS mixes CSI, Amazing Race, Indiana Jones...

With his CSI franchise going strong, The Amazing Race around for at least another season, and his National Treasure sequel coming to theatres for Christmas, movie trashmeister-- and respected television producer-- Jerry Bruckheimer has put everything into a blender and come up with a new series for CBS.

The Bruck is teaming up with the creators of Showtime's Sleeper Cell on a pilot for a one-hour adventure drama about a a globetrotting team of freelance treasure hunters, led by an ex-Navy SEAL turned archaeologist.

Amazing Race winners no longer a "couple"

Eric Sanchez and Danielle Turner, the "dating couple" who won the million dollar Amazing Race: All-Stars prize, are no longer a "dating couple"-- though any suspicions that Eric and Danielle were really lovers to begin with were dispelled in the finale that aired Sunday night, when Eric phoned his former Race partner Jeremy Ryan (above, right) with the news.

Jeremy responded: "Yea-yah! I'm rich, bitch!" (Note use of "I'm" as opposed to "You're")... then proceeded to the pornographic moaning of: "Oh dude, I'm loving it! I'm loving it! I'm taking it in right now"... before climaxing with:

"Dude, I'm gonna give you some spankings when you get home."

Eric, the nipple-ringed waiter from Florida and Danielle, the hardbitten Staten Island bartendrix, were paired for the All-Star edition from two Season 9 teams. While the couple's relationship was portrayed as strained throughout the series (as opposed to the perky beauty queens), and Eric's sexuality was questioned on this space back in April 2006 (before Tabloid Baby's arrival) with a series of photos depicting "Jeric" in compromising positions with the male winners of Season 9 (above and below, left), Eric's macho heterosexual credentials were pounded home during the All-Star season with his allegedly homophobic comments about the two openly-gay teams (while paradoxically, his misogyny was displayed in his treatment of Danielle and words about female competitors).

Eric responds:

Rob & Amber to "revolutionize reality TV"?

robamber.jpgProfessional reality TV couple Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich didn't make it to compete in the finale of last night's The Amazing Race: All-Stars, but their pained smiles and polite applause for the winners were a highlight of the final scene.

And now they say they've got a reality TV series in store that will be the most spectacular ever: "bigger" than The Amazing Race (on which they lost twice) and even Survivor (where they met and he proposed moments before she won):

"Competition will last 100 days...

"On all seven continents...

"First prize is over $10 million."

Where do we sign up?

Amazing Race follows the two-time losers

rob_amber.jpgThe Amazing Race is back Sunday night with its All-Stars edition, and if the prospect of seeing Rob and Ambuh and the rest of the also-rans (Uchenna and Joyce are the only returning winners) doing it again is about as exciting as the Family Edition, the producers are introducing a second, shadow series that could add to the fun. Each week after the west coast broadcast, fans can go online, find the Amazing Race link on the CBS Innertube broadband channel and click onto Elimination Station. What sounds like a new brand of porta-potty is a trip into purgatory, following the eliminated team to a secluded "sequester house," where they will cope with the disappointment-- while living alongside other bitter-at-blowing-their-second-shot eliminated All-Stars.
