Poor American Idol. After weeks of being overshadowed by her sexy photos on the Internet, the producers finally got her off the show and prepared to do something good-- using Idol's ratings power to raise money for the poor in Africa and the United States-- and raise the show to media sainthood, with Bono and Idol Gives Back.
But it's Fox, remember. Instead, they've got "boner" and Idol Gives Whack.
Coming out of left field today: a lawsuit from a former assistant production accountant who says he was fired for complaining about sexual harassment by fourth season finalist Mario Vazquez.
Magdaleno Olmos filed his suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Mario, American Idol Productions Inc. Fremantle Media North America Inc., Fox Entertainment Group Inc. and Fox Broadcasting.
Mario's the guy who wore a hat and dropped out of the Top 12 in March 2005, saying he wanted to focus on personal aspects of his life. The lawsuit alleges that he quit after Olmos came forward with his complaints.
Now get ready for the graphic details... after the jump...
Olmos claims the sexual harassment began in February 2005. On one occasion, he says Mario Vazquez followed him into a restroom at CBS Studios, where Idol is taped, and knocked on the door of the stall he'd just entered.
The lawsuit says that when Olmos opened the door, Mario was standing there with his pants down-- and masturbating!
He allegedly pushed poor Magdeleno Olmos further into the stall, touched him in a sexual way and tried to unzip his pants while asking "if he wanted oral sex."
Olmos claims he was able to get out of the restroom, even though Mario Vazquez grabbed his arm to try to stop him.
Olmos says that when he complained, his supervisor asked if he'd initiated the incident.
