Waaaaaaaaaaa!
Paula Abdul, American Idol's loopy little judge and star of a new Bravo "reality" series whose ads show her falling in the street and bumping her head getting out of cars, is whining and moaning in the latest issue of the celebrity-smooching OK! magazine about all the true medical problems that make her the loveable loonybird that parents everywhere warn their children about not becoming.
Like an Olsen with anorexia or Marcia Brady with her cocaine tales, Paula unloads in the new issue, announcing that she suffers from a rare neurological disorder called reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) that causes chronic pain and keeps her up at night-- which leaves her exhausted and explains why she often seems drunk or drugged on TV.
Okay. Next victim-- Oh, wait, there's more...
Paula claims her chronic pain began with a cheerleading accident when she was 17, was increased by a car accident caused by a drunk driver in 1987, heightened in a plane crash in 1992-- and then she went and fell and broke her nose last week (or did she? The NY Post's Page Six says the lovely actually threw a glass and cut her shnozz).
"I have four titanium plates in my neck. I've had 14 surgeries over the years. I had an operation the same evening as the first-season finale of American Idol," she tells OK!
Paula also says she manages the pain with anti-inflammatory medications, massage therapy and acupuncture.
Hmm... how about letting a reporter peek into the Abdul family medicine cabinet for a look at the labels on those anti-inflammatory meds, Paula? Naaahhh...
Meanwhile, our pals at Page Six have come up with an audiotape, apparently recorded during a conference call with some publicists in the past week or so, in which a sobbing, wailing Paula blames her image problems on her former PR man: "I do a call-in every week for OK! Magazine on American Idol. Because of my brilliant job, they want to do a cover on me. I'm being told by Howard Bragman that I'm too old and no one will ever want to do a cover. ( Paula appears in a box on the cover dominated by Brad Pitt.)
"I've never been treated this way and I've never seen anybody treated this way. This is just too much to stomach... I've been going through tremendous amounts of a difficult time... I'm being tested. All I've ever wanted in my life is to be treated fairly and be treated with kindness. And I've never in my entire career been treated this way. The people who are supposed to take care of these things do not. I have to clean up after them everywhere they go. And I'm tired of it.
"Howard Bragman on Monday-- he did some disgusting behavior. I had to go to Jimmy Kimmel with no publicist there. I go on with no publicist there and I pay this man...
"I don't understand how this man can call me a whining bitch. I've never in my life been called a whining bitch and a loser."
W-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A!!!!
