Now Idol's a (celebrity) cop killer!

latoya.jpgestrada.jpgianbenardo.jpg

Erik Estrada, LaToya Jackson, their posse and all their fame have proven to be no match for Ian Benardo, Bush Baby and Osama bin Idol. Two weeks after American Idol's return, CBS has pulled the comedy reality series, Armed & Famous!

Armed, which featured D-list "celebrities" in Reno 911! situations as real-life cops in Muncie, Indiana, was darn watchable-- and had decent numbers when it premiered three weeks ago.

But that was before Idol came back and went up against the celebucops.

Armed has at least several episodes that haven't aired yet. They'll probably show up on CBS in the summer.

Meanwhile, ABC, which, in its panicked flight from the Idol steamroller has been moving and shuffling shows like deck chairs on the Challenger, has moved its much-heralded but little viewed Knights of Prosperity (which may have had a better shot under its original title, Let's Rob Jeff Goldblum -- that was before Mick Jagger got on board and got all prickly about using his name), but it's only a matter of time before that heads to the Internet.

Boooo. This show was the most underated show of the season. It was hilarious, sincere, and surprisingly captivating. Yes, it sounded like a lame idea, but it really was good.

Armed & Famous should have aired in the summer, or at least on VH1.

WTF?

That's really crappy on CBS's part. They could have at least moved it to a different time slot or day. I guess networks piss their pants at the thought of putting anything up against A.I. Armed and Famous was a great show!!! CBS immediatley yanked it off their website too, so even the old eps can't be watched.
DAMN IT... yet another good show bites the dust to American Idol.

And, I am suprised A.I. still gets good ratings. I thought it went down the tubes a few seasons back.

When I first heard about this show - I had not intention of watching it, but I DVR'd the first episode and surprise - loved it!!!

I am sad to see this show go...I was not able to tape it last week, but noticed that they were going to have a marathon of Armed and Famous on VH1 in February.

Do you think they'll dump the remaining episodes there?!?!
