American Idol producers want to replace Paula Abdul? Now? With Courtney Love???
With her overdoses, arrests, rehabs and wild scenes, you might think that Botox jabs and plastic surgeries are the only things Courtney Love would have in common with the likes of Carole Bayer Sager, but US Weekly quotes a source that Idol producers were considering hiring Kurt Cobain's messy widow as a judge-- to "replace Paula."
Us quotes Love saying that Idol executive producer Nigel Lithgoe called her office last week (she has an office?) and asked if she'd be interested in sitting in.
"He called. He was wondering if I was interested. I thought it was kind of weird but brilliant."
Love wouldn't give any other specifics, but Us stirs the pot by quoting a "source" telling them that Lythgoe wants to replace the loveable wackola.
Paula Abdul has caused some embarrassment in these early stages of Season 6 with unexplained space cadet behaviour during a couple of satellite interviews, but nothing as weird as her incomprehensible slurring in past seasons or as potentially dangerous as her alleged affair with an Idol contestant in Season Two. Maybe it was her lecherous reaction to the 16-year-old contestant Jenry Bejarano in the New York auditions that's got the producers worried she's ready to strike again.
But why would producers want a replacement who's bound to cause even more serious trouble? This Courtney Love story could be a red herring, but these kind of stories tend to be self-fulfilling. Paula could soon be seeing the door. It's the one on the right.

If Paula were to be let go because of drug abuse allegations, then it makes no sense whatsoever to replace her with Courtney Love, of all people.

Paula looks positively boobalicious in that picture. That and her being crazy/unstable makes her mighty attractive.
