Paula sued; 'Idol' singer drops dead

paulaabdul.jpgWow, Paula Abdul was really slurring her way through American Idol last night (though nothing quite as disturbing as when Simon started massaging his moobs)... but we'll leave that to the recap. Anyway, we hope Paula's more eloquent on the witness stand, because she's getting sued.

We told you last month about Paula's reality show with Bravo. Hey Paula! (set for later this year) is supposed to be a look at her wacky showbiz life and promises to give Anna Nicole Smith a run for her money. But maybe in her healthy haze, Paula forgot she'd already made a deal with another company before she signed the Bravo deal.

Pilgrim Films & Television has filed suit in LA Superior Court. They claim they met with Paula and her producing partner in 2004 to produce a reality show called... Hey Paula!... but that the deal fell through when she demanded editorial control. The Pilgrim people say they were about to sell the show to Oxygen when the Bravo deal was announced.

On another Idol note:

Did you notice how Idol used the old Frankie Laine song, Rawhide ("Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'... Keep movin', movin', movin'... Though they're disapprovin'... Rawhide!") on last night's episode, when showing the contestant cattle call in San Antonio?

frankielaine.jpgWell, Frankie Laine dropped dead yesterday!

Coincidence?

A reflection on the talent?

We won't even get into the "They Die in Threes" connection...
