"Dick In A Box" gets an Emmy nomination

There are many mysteries and quirks amid the big long list of Emmy Award nominations.

And at least one worth pointing out.

Dick In A Box, the music video that dared not say its name when it debuted on Saturday Night Live, but which NBC immediately plastered uncensored on its website, is nominated for Outstanding Original Music & Lyrics.

The video starred guest host Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg as boy band singers who present their gift-wrapped genitalia to their dates. "Mainstream" media couldn't--and won't-- print the name of the video that spawned too many bad imitators, but Emmy ain't so shy or demure, listing the nod like this:

Saturday Night Live • Host: Justin Timberlake - Song title: "Dick In A Box" • NBC • SNL Studios in association with NBC Studios and Broadway Video
Justin Timberlake, Music & Lyrics By
Jorma Taccone, Music & Lyrics By
Katreese Barnes, Music By
Asa Taccone, Music By
Akiva Schaffer, Lyrics By
Andy Samberg, Lyrics By

Now, it's got some heavy competition:

"My Drunken Irish Dad" from Family Guy;

MADtv's "Merry Ex-Mas";

"Everything Comes Down to Poo" from Scrubs;

and Scrubs' download hit, "Guy Love."

...but just want to see the song performed on the awards show.

So... have you noticed any fun stuff in the Emmy nominations? Let us know.
