The show was hosted by Kelly Ripa and taped a week ago at the Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Airport (home to the equally-anticipated Barney's Warehouse Sale), and although TV Land has managed to keep a lid on much of the hotly-anticipated contents of the 90-minute special, they've already announced the major tributes, like most of The Brady Bunch reuniting once again (along with Alice--not dead yet!)-- this time to receive a well-deserved Pop Culture Award.
A current series is handed the "Future Classic" Award-- a prescient prize that went to NBC's timeless American Dreams in 2003 (and Grey's Anatomy last year). We won't be party to all their spoilers (though we have a few more after the jump), so here are some hints: it's another ensemble show (TV Land loves to give awards to ensemble shows because that increases the odds of cast members being alive to accept accept future tributes); it can be classified as "sci fi" and maybe even "cult"-- and the presenters are Leonard Nimoy and Luke Wilson:
So what's the future classic?
TV Land is running a spoiler video here until after award show airs.
As for the other awards announced in advance:
Chain-smoking redhead Lucille Ball will be exhumed to accept the Legacy of Laughter Award (and we'll see how Lucie and Desi Jr. have aged)... There will be tears for Buck Owens as Hee Haw cops The Entertainers Award... The epic miniseries Roots wins the Anniversary Award because-- well, because it's the 30th anniversary of its airing... and Taxi gets a Medallion Award because a medallion is a NYC taxi license and Danny DeVito likes to attend awards shows.
And we're still waiting for the My Mother The Car reunion...
