TV missing from BET Awards

What does it say about African Americans and television when the premiere television black network runs an entertainment awards show and doesn't even have a television category?

Don't ask us. We only noticed that there weren't any television stars or shows among the honorees at the Shrine Auditorium last night when Black Entertainment Television handed out its annual BET Awards honoring African American actors, singers and sports stars. Forest Whitaker got a Best Actor statue, but that was just extra credit for his OscarĀ® winning turn in The Last King of Scotland, not his over-the-top stint in The Shield, and Best Actress Jenifer Hudson succeeded despite American Idol, didn't she?

They could have added some fireworks to the show that ran on BET last night. And even though NBC is looking to get him cheap while he's still got recognition, Isaiah Washington could have usd some cheering up.
