Battlestar Galactica "going out with a bang"

The upcoming fourth season of the Sci Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica will be its last.

After months of speculation and leaks from high-placed sources, the producers will make the announcement at a press conference today.

The decision to end Galactica after these 22 episodes was a creative one, made by executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick.

Their statement:

"This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and finally, an end. Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there-- we're going out with a bang."

The final season will blast off in November with "Razor," an extended two-hour episode. The rest of the season is set to begin in early 2008.

Couple comments...

TypeKey doesn't remember me as a FireFox user.

I'm not pleased BG is ending after 4 seasons, though maybe they're starting to realize they were a bright starburst that has fizzled and they just ran out of ides.

I'm impressed Tabloid Baby managed to post and not be snarky. I'll continue to report truly offensive content, but I'm still amazed TB got one thru clear. She's usually a baby without a documented father.
