Have you seen this? The treacly pre-Valentine's Day fable that will have millions of women asking their boyfriends/husbands, "Why can't you be so romantic?" is spreading this morning. Rand Fishkin had attempted to propose to his girlfriend in a commercial during the Super Bowl. His plan to solicit money from strangers through a website didn't work out, and his spot didn't make the line-up.
But adtime on the CW is a lot cheaper and he was able to buy a spot during Veronica Mars, supposedly his girlfriend's favorite show.

Personally, we prefer the T-Mobile commercial in which a guy breaks up with his girlfriend through a singing telegram ( "Happy Valentine's Day! Your boyfriend's got something to say! You're not in his network and it's costing him a fortune so he wants to break up today! He wants to break up today!"). But we're just sentimental that way.
