Last week, I announced that TVgasm would be giving away a Logitech Harmony One remote control every week for the next three weeks. The response has been redonkulous with over 1,500 entries in week one. This weeks contest is much more silent for some reason, so don't forget if you didn't win last week. .. try again this week.

This week was very hard. I read every single entry, some brilliantly clever, some just sad, and many death threats.
But for this week Im happy to reveal our winning entry comes from Ibis B which tugged at the heart strings, had photographic evidence. . . and the Harmony One remote control has hard plastic buttons that will be mouse proof.

Reasons why I need a Harmony One:
1) I just bought my husband a new LCD HD TV (yeah, major points :) ) for his birthday, which is on your week! (19th)
2) We just signed up to a ridiculously overpriced Comcast bundle so we can watch what they deem 'lots of stuff' in HD and this deserves a darn good tool to control it :)
3) Cause a freaking mouse chewed *all* of the keys on my other remote. Yeah, I'm not kidding.... (see attachment). We had no idea what happened to our remote at first, we thought the buttons had melted for some reason.... but it melted into a funny, continuous line pattern (ew). And we figured it couldn't have been that they melted since *all* of the damn buttons had the exact same little pattern on them, all perfectly aligned in a vertical pattern, nonetheless. Then, my husband went to get a pack of Pop Tarts from his backpack and the freaking mouse had torn the pack open and taken them with it, no clue where but it must have swallowed both of them. I traced all the little clues Mickey left us (we named it) and found that it had chewed the carpet underneath our heater closet to get into the house. I had nightmares about that thing.
4) Did I mention the mouse also swallowed my husband's new Ipod's earbuds?! ...yeah... need I say more?
Anyway, hope that's good enough to get me a new Harmony! Just think I will have to live with a chewed up remote forever if I don't get it (unless I stop being cheap and actually buy a good one ;) ).

That was hilarious and so tragic. A fine choice for a winner. Now - if the mouse eats the new remote - do we get to see photos of that too?

That is a classic for the Crypt.. Congrats Ibis... I am so entertained.. how long did this take ... that is one busy mouse.

Thanks! :D I'm so happy my story got chosen. A few months ago I was losing my mind in my own apt thanks to the disaster I woke up to... I swear, it was just too much destruction for a mouse so I didn't know what to believe at first. Giffordsaz, it all happened during my sleep and I kept discovering the mouse's little adventures in the span of 2-3 days... not fun. I refused to go near where the holes in the carpet were for a while.
Tink, any mouse better not get near the new remote, I think I'll just keep it in my bedroom for good measure ;)
It is very soothing to know that my mouse story served a purpose!
