Will Heather hop away from 'Dancing'?

heathermills.jpgHeather Mills may be the next "celebrity" to quit Dancing with The Stars.

That's the rumour floating from the UK, amid reports that the one-legged tabloid figure quit dance rehearsals at London's Pineapple Dance Studios after only a day-- even though she'd booked the place and choreographers for an entire week (she also cancelled a photo shoot at the studio).

It's not known why Heather pulled out, but it's probably connected to her ugly divorce with Paul McCartney. The two of them were in London's High Court this week, wrapping up preliminary testimony in the big money fight.

It's got to be a headache for Dancing producers, who just announced that John Ratzenberger will replace not-so-tough-guy Vincent Pastore. And with promos hailing her as a brave 'celebrity' out to overcome a tremendous obstacle, Heather's Dancing stint is meant to pick up where Larry King and Extra leave off, making her a loveable--and marketable-- figure here in the States-- after she's been turned into a pariah in the UK.

Heather had been portrayed as a Diana-style activist when she and the recently-widowed McCartney hooked up, but once they split and began tangling over money and custody of their child, the press went wild, with accusations she'd been a high-priced call girl, and porny photos from her younger days-- photos that McCartney's powerful media machine kept out of the papers when they were married.

How hated is she in England today? Disability activist groups are targeting her now for using her "disabled parking" badge when she's taking part in a dancing show.

Maybe she realized that she won't win -- and it isn't because she is missing a limb. While others do have an advantage over her, walking and moving around with a below-the-knew amputation isn't as challenging as she'd probably like us all to think.

She'll be one of the first ones cut for three very obvious reasons:

1) She has no fan-base (think Tatum O'Neal).
2) She is divorcing a beloved icon whom people do NOT want to see wronged.
3) She is female. Dancing fans don't care how good a female dancer is (think judge-favorites Stacy Kiebler, Rachel Hunter or Willa Ford).

Now for a comment about the article -- "How hated is she in England today? I lost both of my legs and was told that I wasn't really disabled because I could still earn a living by using my brain. Oh the world that we live in ...
